For this Genshin Impact Vodyanitsa shoot, we attempted to visualize the motif of the "aria of the Nixie." To align with the mystery and ethereal quality rooted in the Snezhnayan background, the studio set was built with an abundance of blue, white, and purple gradient floral arrangements, matched with white openwork carved arches and a crystal chandelier on the left, forging a texture reminiscent of a deep-sea hidden realm.
In terms of costume and styling, to give the character stronger recognition, I specially refined the wig's layering; the gradient from dark green to mint green carries a delicate sheen under the lights. The white flower hair accessories accenting both sides and the high white lace collar around the neck are key highlights, imparting a touch of aristocratic elegance. Instead of conventional shoes, I went barefoot for this shoot, wearing an anklet crafted from pearls and light blue beads, which directly echoes the carefree, airy nature of a Nixie. The dramatically puffed sleeves, complemented by cyan-blue ribbon bows, lend the character a crisp readiness for battle amid her gentle grace.
On the shooting day, a Sony A7M5 was used, mounted with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM and FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II lenses. The 24-70mm was primarily used to establish the scene and full-body interaction, particularly the extension of leg lines while seated on the white wrought-iron bench; the 70-200mm was employed to capture the gaze and the glowing prop details on the chest. To emphasize the pure aesthetic of blue and white, large-area soft lighting combined with cool color temperatures was utilized while preserving the three-dimensional contours of the face.
The greatest challenge throughout the shoot was nailing the right poses. Because the skirt is multi-layered—with a translucent tulle outer layer and a deep blue inner fabric—sitting down required continuous adjustments of the gauze flow to avoid bulky bunching. In the reaching-out pose in Photo 3, paired with the glowing prop, the gaze needed to convey that misty, beckoning invitation of a Nixie without appearing overly staged.
Across the entire shoot, from styling and studio staging to post-processing, everyone strove to practice subtraction to prevent colors from feeling too heavy. Post-processing mainly adjusted the blue saturation to restore natural visual translucency while preserving the skin's radiant sheen. This shoot was an immensely satisfying visual presentation, and I hope this photo set conveys the agility of the Nixie and the ambiance of Snezhnaya to everyone.
