[Reimu Hakurei Cosplay] The Gensokyo Exorcist Shrine Maiden in a Chinese-Style Study

This time, I chose to incorporate more Western-style and lace elements to present Reimu Hakurei, combining the classic exorcism talismans with a modified red and white shrine maiden dress. The massive bow on the head features a double-layered structure to ensure a visual highlight, and paired with the wide sleeves and ruffled hemline, the overall look maintains excellent volume in both dynamic and static poses. The shooting location was specifically chosen to be a Chinese-style study, where the contrasting colors of the dark wooden shelves and blue pillows create a clear cultural contrast with Reimu's red and white outfit, while also beautifully blending into the Japanese-style atmosphere set by the Touhou Project.

For props, I specially customized two large-sized exorcism talismans. They feel very substantial in hand, which not only satisfies the character setting but also guides the viewer's gaze and composition perfectly when posing. As for the makeup, I didn't emphasize overly complex eyeshadow, focusing instead on a reddish-brown eyeliner to match the hair color of the same palette, making the expressions look natural and cohesive.

During the shoot, this photo was taken from a slightly lower high-angle shot. Combined with natural light and a warm fill light on the side, it beautifully preserved the textures of the lace and satin. Exorcism work in Gensokyo might look effortless, but supporting such a massive outfit and wig actually demands a lot of physical strength and body control. While the use of red and white is common in traditional shrine maiden attire, infusing it with a Lolita Shrine Maiden tailoring style presents a look that feels both familiar and slightly from another world.

Every time I do a Reimu Hakurei Cosplay, I think about how to add details based on my personal interpretation while staying faithful to the character. The inclusion of the white semi-sheer lace and the red-and-gold color scheme belt this time serves as a new memorable point added to the classic look, showing my growth in this cosplay journey.
