The weekend's Firefly ACG Expo has wrapped up, and as the crowds dispersed, I captured a set of convention photos along the urban streets outside the venue.

For this Azur Lane cosplay outfit, the highlight lies in the extensive plush accessories and the crisp monochrome tailoring. The light-pink long curly wig paired with a black ruffled lace headpiece focuses the visual weight around the head. A silver cone pendant at the neckline enhances the overall refined feel. The upper body features a form-fitting black bodysuit with silver patterns, draped in an ultra-fluffy long white plush shawl trimmed with black heart and inverted-triangle motifs, accompanied by a matching thick plush tail. Walking outdoors in this gear required careful handling to prevent the plush trims from dragging on the ground and catching dust.

For the lower half, I wore sheer Black stockings and chunky-heeled glossy black patent pumps, with the vine tattoo on the left leg clearly visible across both standing and seated compositions. The photoshoot relied heavily on ambient natural light. Because the sunlight was intense that day, highlights were prone to overexposure and shadows were rather harsh, placing strict demands on the photographer's lighting control. In the seated shots, a low camera angle naturally elongated the leg lines, working with the heels to beautifully accentuate the texture of the stockings and flatter the silhouette. Black stockings often add visual depth to the overall styling in convention photos, preventing the voluminous white plush elements from looking bulky.

This entire set was captured beside the road and near street greenery, with parked cars, road guardrails, and distant glass-curtain buildings and trees in the background. Compared to indoor studio shoots, this lively urban streetscape infused the anime styling with an authentic sense of crossing dimensions into 2D daily life. Costume details—such as garment seams and plush texture—were captured crisply under natural sunlight without requiring heavy post-processing filters.

For cosplay, capturing convention photos can sometimes be more challenging than studio shoots: you have to face passersby while constantly ensuring your wig and outfit remain immaculate. The photographer's candid capture is equally crucial—finding the right light angles while avoiding clutter in the background. Overall, I am very satisfied with this finalized look; the soft-toned wig and monochrome outfit felt completely natural under sunlight, and the plush elements looked stunning before the lens. Navigating the expo grounds in this gear was a unique experience in itself, and capturing it all on camera was truly a joy.
