[Cerydra Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail, A Mysterious Chessboard Beneath Ice-Blue Crystals - Image 2

Shooting this Cerydra cosplay Cosplay photoshoot from Honkai: Star Rail actually took a lot of time in costume details and prop preparation. In particular, this headpiece with a glowing effect is extremely eye-catching in low-light environments, which, combined with blue colored contacts and cool-toned Ice blue eye makeup, quickly brings out the character's cool and reserved disposition. The black-and-white checkered floor and the Roman column props on both sides bring a rich layered feel blending classic and Fantasy scene photography elements to this photo set.

Regarding this costume, the blue, white, and black design with gold thread patchwork is richly layered. The off-the-shoulder styling paired with asymmetric checkered sleeves, along with the flowing skirt at the bottom, nicely elongates visual proportions. Fellow fans might be curious about the overall effect of styling a tall character like this; in fact, I made many adjustments to the waistline of this outfit, cinching the upper body with a waist girdle, which, combined with the boot height and skirt slit, cleanly showcases a sleek standing posture. As the core prop for this session, the staff not only needed to display a luminous texture under lighting, but also felt quite heavy in hand. To avoid looking stiff during shooting, I practiced the movements of raising the staff and turning around multiple times.

The atmosphere inside the studio on the day of the shoot was very strong, with a thin layer of smoke effect created at the bottom. The photographer also emphasized the realism of cool tones during lighting setups rather than adding overly flashy filters, relying mainly on the overhead blue light effects to shape facial contours. This lighting method makes the skin texture appear very translucent while complementing the blue elements on the costume. Including the unique tailoring on the right sleeve, raising my arm reveals inner details, giving the subject more 3D tension within the frame.

I've always felt that doing Cosplay doesn't just stop at restoring looks; it's even more about shaping facial expressions and movements. Cerydra's own expressions and postures are very restrained, so during shooting I intentionally reined in redundant emotions, relying more on arm span and the sense of power when gripping the staff to convey the character's traits. Every time a shoot finishes, taking off this heavy equipment and watching props being packed away into boxes one by one always gives a feeling of detaching from another persona, but this immersive experience is precisely the most captivating part of playing Cosplay.
