[Firefly Cosplay] Trying Out a Maid Outfit in the World of Honkai: Star Rail

I put on this Firefly cosplay in a Maid outfit at the BilibiliWorld convention site. Partnering with the Almora booth, the goal was to capture the sweet spot where the character's aura and the brand's tone harmonize within a cafe-style set.

A silver wig with teal-green streak accents, topped with animal ears and black bow hair accessories, visually preserves Firefly's iconic head elements. In terms of makeup, I focused on sharpening eye contours, paired with a soft pink-white base and dark red contact lenses. The costume features color-blocking in mint green, white, and coffee brown; the brown bow tie at the collar alongside intricate skirt pleats and lace trim beautifully emulates a Lolita style, perfectly fitting this concept of a slice-of-life portrayal.

By the time I arrived at the convention, the foot traffic was already immense. The Almora booth was exquisitely decorated, with the cafe backdrop behind featuring warm yellow lighting and wooden shelving, while props like a pink vintage radio matched the thematic color scheme. This atmosphere weaving light blue and mint green harmonized effortlessly with my outfit.

As a cosplayer, my top priority is photo shooting efficiency. Lighting at the booth was ideal, and the three-dimensional depth of the set allowed me to quickly step into character. During the shoot, I experimented with different seated poses and gestures—such as pressing an index finger gently to my cheek—to highlight the vibrant energy of the overall look. Since white stockings and black buckled Mary Jane shoes were visual key points of this styling, photography paid special attention to seated perspective and leg extension. On site, we communicated with staff regarding positioning to ensure prop signs held in hand were clear without obscuring the outfit.

Choosing a Maid outfit as the theme for this Firefly cosplay was intended to give her a softer, more slice-of-life filter. In the context of Honkai: Star Rail, she inherently possesses a pure power, while maid elements add visual approachability. From styling the wig to adjusting the skirt hem, every detail of this shoot required meticulous control, especially ensuring the skirt's layered fluffiness and a cinched waistline.

Attending conventions is always a challenge of character interpretation and self-expression. The feedback on site warmed my heart deeply, with many fellow fans carefully scouting angles and compositions.
