This shooting experience was exceptionally special because Gigant's nun outfit carries a powerful contrasting visual feel. To project that mysterious yet faintly dangerous aura, numerous details went into the makeup—especially the red contact lenses in the eyes and the eye-area makeup, which, paired with the pink long wig, immediately brought the character to life the moment the headpiece went on.

In terms of wardrobe, this nun dress has been modified; the classic black-and-white color-blocking is iconic, but the short cropped midriff and oversized skirt slits grant the entire outfit far more physical expressiveness. To complement this attire, I deliberately selected Stockings and black Mary Jane shoes, which not only flatter leg contours but also enrich layering during physical motion. When communicating with the photographer before the shoot, we decided to break away from traditional graceful standing poses and experiment with movements carrying greater tension.

For instance, in crouching and seated poses, to make bodily lines appear more slender, I extended my legs outward as much as possible while keeping my spine straight, and coordinated arm movements into an expansive gesture resembling casting spells or capturing a target. Holding props or lightly grazing my lips focused the visual center seamlessly within the lens. The lighting setup on site was meticulously orchestrated; the primary light struck the face and skirt hem to accentuate textures, while the darkened background effectively outlined the subject's contours.

Significant thought went into motion choreography. To prevent the frames from feeling rigid, I experimented with placing weight on my rear leg while extending my front leg forward, which visually elongates proportions. Simultaneously, syncing hand gestures—such as curving fingers into claw-like shapes or resting them softly on the legs—injected storytelling into the frame. Shooting within a dimly lit environment allowed the Stockings to act as brilliant reflective surfaces, forming a stark contrast against the black skirt hem and preventing the overall composition from feeling oppressive.

When taking photos at conventions, the more unconventional the pose, the better the output. Many might assume this outfit would restrict movement, but mastering the center of gravity of the garments—such as the timing of lifting the skirt hem or the intersecting angle of the legs—allows one to capture striking, aggressive visual effects. The overall shooting process progressed smoothly, and the post-processed deliverables preserved that austere mood from the site. In presenting this character and outfit, I pushed myself to honor the lore while infusing my own understanding of physical expression.

Additionally, wig maintenance served as a core focus of the preparation. Because the length reached the waist and tangled easily, careful brushing was mandatory during every break between shots. To ensure the hair strands looked soft and lustrous before the lens, daily care had to be paired with supportive lighting. The trailing skirt hem in the back was also a massive undertaking, requiring the assistant's help to shape its form so we could capture that flowing yet substantial tactile texture.

We invested substantial consideration into selecting the venue for this shoot as well. Wanting an industrial dark-toned backdrop, we specifically sought out an expansive indoor space. During shooting, to prevent the composition from feeling overly claustrophobic, the photographer leveraged structural lines within the venue—such as overhead lighting and background railings—to amplify spatial depth. I adjusted my positioning and stances around these lines to infuse the frame with richer layers. In terms of costume details, accents like the white collar patchwork and the golden star accessory on the abdomen required deliberate angle adjustments during shooting to guarantee they caught the light and created visual highlights. While certain poses appeared effortless, maintaining balance actually demanded continuous core engagement; for instance, in the single-knee crouch, I pressed my center of gravity onto the rear foot to prevent the body from swaying. Though the entire process proved taxing, seeing the final shots made every bit of it entirely worthwhile.
