To fit the classic elements of Reimu Hakurei from Touhou Project, I specifically chose this blue-and-white modified outfit adorned with lace trim and bows. To match the color palette of the ocean, the blue of the costume was selected for its steady, seawater-like texture, while the white lace and cuff details create a beautiful contrast of light and shadow under the sun. For props, I intentionally brought this paper talisman combined with a thin rod, hoping to add a touch of agility and extension to the static standing posture.

The seaside location shoot took place in the afternoon by the coast of Xiamen, a shoreline frequently visited by local Xiamen photography enthusiasts. Shooting by the sea is actually quite challenging, especially with strong winds, intense sunlight, and seawater reflections changing the ambient light field. This time, I had a great understanding with the photographer, Master Yunjian. In the early stages, we communicated our vision of "blending nature with the character," hoping to use the shimmering light on the sea surface as a natural filter to soften any traces of artificial staging. During the shoot, to overcome the wind messing up my long hair and hair accessories, we repeatedly adjusted our positions and wind angles. The sound of waves crashing against the reefs accompanied the shutter clicks, creating a truly immersive atmosphere on-site.

This high-brightness natural light environment demands strict control over facial expressions for an ACG Cosplayer, but fortunately, the light delivered an absolute stunning effect. Especially the glittering spots formed by sunlight refracting on the water surface; when shot from a backlit angle, the background presents a dreamy, soft glow. The composition where I glance back happened to capture these background light spots, making the frame look translucent yet full of depth.

Xiamen is indeed an ideal place for a seaside location shoot, and this session is one of my most satisfying recent outputs. Every outfit has an environmental space that suits it. Combining characters from Touhou Project with real natural scenery always brings out an unexpected vitality—no deliberately planned poses, just comfortable moments where the sea breeze, light, shadow, and character perfectly coordinate.
