[Moriya Suwako cosplay] Suwako in Touhou Project: A Refreshing Match of Straw Hat Outfit and Ruffles

This shoot was set in an outdoor environment after rain, where the lighting texture was translucent and presented a bright tone overall. Wanting to capture the character's temperament, this photoset avoided overly complex lighting, relying more on soft highlights brought by natural light during this Outdoor cosplay session, better preserving the original texture of the white lace inner layer and purple ruffled sleeves.

During early preparation, styling the golden wig took quite a bit of time. This hairstyle featuring straight bangs and low twin-tails on both sides demands careful attention to hair direction and fluffiness. I used a curling iron in advance to adjust the curvature of the hair ends to prevent them from looking overly stiff. The red string ties on both sides also needed to be fixed just right—too loose and they'd slip, too tight and they'd pull at the wig scalp—requiring adjustment at any moment during movements. For eyes, amber contact lenses were worn, paired with meticulously drawn eyeliner and upper/lower lashes, allowing my gaze to look more focused and spirited for an Anime girl look.

Costume details were the highlight of this look in the Straw hat outfit. The wide woven straw hat was edged with white ruffles featuring purple wavy piping, creating a fluffy contour that flattered my face shape nicely. The inner layer was a white high-collared lace shirt with delicate white embroidery around the neckline. The teal gem on the chest and the golden hollowed brooch served as finishing touches, casting a lovely sheen under natural light. The outer jacket paired blue fabric patterned with gold motifs, balancing visually with the primary white color scheme so it didn't look overly cluttered. The sleeve design was very unique, with reddish-purple pleated tulle spliced onto white lace, giving it rich layering when walking.

During filming, lifting the hat brim with one hand served as a natural way to interact. This pose not only showcased sleeve details of the outfit, but raising the arm also broke up the stiffness of facing the camera directly. Close-up portrait shots tested facial expression control, requiring relaxed facial muscles while maintaining clarity and focus in the eyes; a slightly confident smile made the overall atmosphere much more approachable. The photographer used a wide aperture to blur the green outdoor background, turning distant leaf light spots into soft bokeh circles, highlighting the subject without letting the background steal the spotlight.

Walking around outdoors in this outfit required extra care so the hat wouldn't block my line of sight due to its wide brim. The overall texture leaned lightweight and airy, fitting beautifully when shot beside woods and grasslands. This style demands high material precision and clean makeup; my main focus this time was harmonizing makeup and wig details, hoping to convey that slightly divine yet approachable feel of the character through authentic, natural light and shadow. Post-processing mainly adjusted overall light and color balance without excessive skin smoothing or special effect filters, striving to preserve the true texture of skin and fabrics for this Moriya Suwako cosplay.
