The shooting location selected this time was Mount Fuji's Lake Kawaguchi, and the late autumn scenery certainly did not disappoint. In fact, this costume took quite a lot of time from designing and pattern making to final completion, especially with the fabric selection and the detailed treatment of those small accessories; I specifically sought out some brocades with traditional patterns to match it. The weather on the day of the shoot was exceptionally beautiful, with sunlight spilling down through the ginkgo leaves, creating a very natural rim light almost without the need for much artificial fill light. The photographer's low-angle perspective fully merged the blue sky and golden yellow leaves in the background, while the wooden offering lanterns and red pillars provided a highly atmospheric depth of field. The golden circular ring prop in my hands actually carries some weight; during the shoot, I had to control my arm stability while adjusting my gaze direction. To capture the light spots filtering through the gaps in the leaves, we repeatedly fine-tuned our positioning and posture several times. Standing beneath the ancient tree, one can feel that sense of serene peace combining nature and culture; though there were other tourists on site, we tried our best to compose from angles with fewer crowds. The white wide sleeves of the costume appeared very ethereal under backlighting, while the purple vest and the bell decorations at the waist offered great depth of layers under the sun. This trip was not just about Mount Fuji photography, but also an opportunity to experience the autumn breeze of Mount Fuji firsthand, making it overall a highly fulfilling shooting experience for a Touhou Project enthusiast like myself. I hope these photos can convey that natural and pure texture of autumn—after all, being able to handcraft a costume and wear it into such a beautiful setting to complete an autumn outdoor photography session brings a highly unique sense of satisfaction in itself.
