Putting on this intricate dress outfit dominated by black and white, and standing in front of the mirror holding the broom, I truly felt the strong visual tension of this ensemble. The multi-layered black-and-white design, combined with abundant lace, pleats, and ruffles, supports a very full silhouette—possessing both classical Lolita elegance and the mysterious flair of a magical girl.

Let's start with the head styling—that massive black wide-brimmed hat serves as the visual centerpiece. The brim is not only accented with white pleated ruffles and sheer white gauze, but star-shaped decorations and spiderweb-like delicate tulle are also neatly sewn between the fabrics, giving the entire hat rich layering and three-dimensionality. To make the styling more complete, the light golden long hair was braided into a single side braid, which is one of this character's most recognizable traits. I repeatedly adjusted the tightness and placement of the braid so it hung naturally in front of my shoulder, hoping to present a texture closer to the character design.

The structure of the upper body is equally distinct in layers. The base layer is a pure white lantern-sleeve shirt, overlaid with a black tight corset vest; combining these two starkly contrasting colors creates strong visual impact. The vest features delicate buttons, small bows, and staggered lace splicing across the chest, so these small details keep the garment from looking plain. The cinch waist is slightly tight, but it tightens the waistline just right, perfectly elongating lower body proportions when paired with the voluminous skirt below. I specifically adjusted how the ribbons were tied on the edges of the vest and shirt so they looked a bit casual rather than overly rigid.

The skirt structure on the lower body is truly the soul of this entire outfit. It consists of multiple alternating black and white ruffled layers. The outermost layer is a black overskirt featuring a high slit design, trimmed with wide white lace; when walking or turning, the white petticoat underneath reveals itself, creating a dynamic dark-and-light aesthetic. Facing the mirror, I adjusted my pose with the broom, letting it rest naturally toward the floor; combined with a slight side profile angle, it fully displays the silhouette of both the outfit and prop.

The shoot happened to take place in an indoor home environment, where I found a relatively clean full-length mirror. To capture the multi-layered skirt completely in frame during this Mirror selfie, I lowered the camera angle slightly, ensuring clear visibility of the hat decorations on top down to the skirt hem and shoes. The warm indoor lighting hit the fabric, emphasizing the black-and-white contrast texture wonderfully—especially the lace and tulle edges on the black fabric, which glowed softly in the light, giving an incredible texture.

Recreating this character isn't just about wearing the clothes, but conveying that temperament through the overall atmosphere. Even in a Mirror selfie where my full face isn't shown, I hoped to express her signature agility and confidence through the braid's position, the pose holding the broom, and the strands of hair and body outline visible under the wide brim.

Finishing this photo set gave me a fresh appreciation of this outfit's detailed design. Although black and white is a classic combination, integrating different fabric textures, pleat density, and varying lace widths can present entirely different styles.
