The concept behind these convention photos was actually very clear: to leverage the cool overhead lights built into the exhibition hall, cleanly presenting the overall texture of the pure white leotard and fishnet stockings.
A matte-textured fabric was chosen for the outfit, which, combined with the silver-gray tie and mandarin collar design, maintains a unified cool-toned visual presence under light. To elongate body proportions, it was intentionally paired with silver stiletto heels and wide-mesh white fishnet stockings, giving the leg lines a more pronounced sense of extension under the hall's cool lighting.
As for props, the white tactical firearm was one of the core elements of the look. Although it had been lightened, carrying it while moving through the exhibition hall for long periods still required considerable core strength. To keep the shot clean during Cosplay photography, I made subtle adjustments to my gun-holding posture, such as using wrist and arm angles to balance the prop's weight, striving to prevent the firearm body from obscuring collar and waist tailored details.
The convention venue was crowded with dense foot traffic and complex ambient lighting. To guarantee a clean shot, the photographer chose to use an on-camera flash as the key light at close range, using cool white color temperature to neutralize the yellowish ambient lights of the hall. This was also key in post-processing to compress highlights and make the outfit and wig look as if they were glowing.
For wig and makeup, to get close to the character's cool and capable disposition, the eyebrows and eyeliner were softened, shifting focus onto extending the outer corners of the eyes to make them look sharper under cool light. Styling the long hair was actually quite time-consuming; during breaks in shooting, I had to repeatedly comb through it to prevent strands from tangling due to movement and wind.
Regarding shooting angles, these convention photos extensively utilized low-angle shots. This angle not only bypassed cluttered crowds behind me but also echoed the high heels, further elongating leg proportions through lens perspective. The silver reflective front of the shoes served perfectly as a visual highlight, giving the lower body a more grounded visual balance.
Although the exhibition venue was huge, finding a relatively open background was no easy task. We chose an area featuring metal beams and overhead light rows, utilizing the industrial ceiling structure as a distant backdrop combined with a wide aperture to blur out surrounding tourists, creating a spacious and immersive sense.
For an outfit dominated by white, daily maintenance and storage during convention shoots require extra care. So during shooting gaps, I wrapped props and wigs in brought dustproof bags to prevent picking up dust from the venue, ensuring the white elements in photos consistently maintained a pure texture.
In fact, the hardest part of cosplaying this character was keeping all these white elements clean and vivid in a complex environment—especially in a crowded convention site where walking meant being careful not to snag or ruin the fishnet stockings, while constantly watching whether passersby behind would block light. As long as details for costumes, props, makeup, and hair are prepared thoroughly beforehand, performance in front of the lens comes naturally. The overall atmosphere and translucency of these convention photos achieved my expected results.
