[Yao Cosplay] Honor of Kings Cinnamoroll's Dream: An Appointment with Sea Breeze and Blue Hour

Completed this Honor of Kings Yao Cinnamoroll themed photoshoot at the Shenzhen seaside. From the earliest concept to final execution, a lot of effort went into prepping the overall look. Styling-wise, this set's overall blue-and-white tone feels extremely fresh. Light gauze and subtle shimmer fabrics were chosen for the outfit, decorated with large-area pom-poms and bow knots to visually match the soft, cute, and healing feel of Cinnamoroll's Dream. The magic wand in hand was custom-made to faithfully restore that dreamlike vibe while being comfortable to hold. The skirt hem features an asymmetrical layered design—short in front and long in back—so walking or sitting by the railing allows the skirt to flare naturally, revealing white lining and over-the-knee socks inside. Fabric-wise, we specifically chose pearlescent reflective material that glows faintly under sunset or night lights so colors don't look flat. For accessories, besides pom-poms, ribbon streamers woven from blue and transparent materials hung on headwear and arms, creating a sense of extension when the wind blew.

We specifically picked two time slots for shooting. The first shot was taken at sunset; seaside sunset light was extremely soft, presenting a warm atmosphere across sea and sky. As the sun fell behind distant mountains, it cast a golden rim light along hair edges, giving photos a gentle halo. The remaining three shots captured classic blue hour; as night fell, Shenzhen seaside winds blew slightly stronger, adding a touch of freedom instead. The blue backdrop and light-colored attire formed a harmonious cool tone. For Cosplay photography, the photographer added warm-and-cold contrast little star lights on set and blue stardust special effects in post-processing, adding fairytale color to the chilly seaside.

For styling, I wore a light golden wig trimmed into breezy layers, paired with big-ear-shaped headwear to look like a cute bunny or fawn. Makeup leaned toward minimalism while retaining delicate polish: eyeshadow was chosen in pinkish-blue micro-shimmer to match innocent yet nimble eyes. Natural false eyelashes kept the eye's original rounded shape for clear, bright eyes. The overall style aligned with refined anime aesthetics—not overly exaggerated, but every detail was crafted with care. We took a break mid-shoot because strong sea winds kept blowing hair and props messy; the photographer's assistant constantly helped adjust styling nearby to ensure perfect condition in every frame. Though the process was a bit tiring, reviewing camera playback made everything feel completely worth it.

This photoset wasn't just restoring a character's appearance, but bringing that dreamlike atmosphere to viewers. To achieve this, mastering light was crucial: light changed rapidly from dusk into night, so we raced against time. During early planning, the photographer and I scouted location together to find this amazing ocean-viewing platform. In prop details, transparent crystal ornaments on the magic wand echoed the outfit's fabric. Trying different time slots brought rich layering across the photoset; compared to daytime clarity, the nightscape held more narrative depth. Every photo condensed our shooting state and character understanding. I was truly satisfied with the final result; that clean, clear style combined with prop interactions brought out the character's innate traits. Sea breeze, sunset, blue hour night, and this unique outfit made the entire shooting experience unforgettable.
