Cosplaying Luo Tianyi (Luo Tianyi cosplay) on-site at BW 2026 this time, the costume features the classic blue-and-white color palette, accented with bright yellow flowing ribbons and green chest accessories, creating a striking visual impact. To capture the character's lively vitality, I specifically designed a dynamic pose—kicking one leg back while flashing a peace sign—so that when shooting along the convention aisles with strong perspective depth, the composition wouldn't feel rigid.
For the wig, I went with silver-gray twin tails (Gray hair cosplay). The blue-and-white looped hair accessories at the crown required extra securing, so I used an entire box of bobby pins to keep them from shifting while walking around. For makeup, I chose bright green colored contacts and deepened the eye contours; because the venue's overhead lighting and flashes can wash out makeup, I applied blush slightly heavier so my complexion looked healthier on camera. The fabric tends to reflect light under intense illumination, so I intentionally added a yellow bow at the waist to break the monotony.
For footwear and socks, I paired black ankle socks with blue-and-white high-heeled ankle boots. Although walking required extra caution, they significantly elongated the leg line before the lens. Foot traffic at the convention was massive; to achieve a clean background, the photographer used a wide aperture to blur the passersby behind into bokeh orbs, using shallow depth of field to make the subject pop.
Instead of static standing poses, this shoot focused on candid captures of running and jumping to convey the character's energetic spirit. Many passersby stopped to take photos, and lots of fellow cosplayers came over to take photos together. Actually, this layered outfit is quite time-consuming to put on and adjust, especially the chest accessories and waist ribbons, which shift out of place whenever making bigger moves. To ensure a high success rate for good shots, I practiced the leg kick height multiple times by the side of the venue to make sure the skirt flared naturally.
Even though the venue's air conditioning was running full blast, walking around in this costume all day still worked up quite a sweat; fortunately, the base makeup held up firmly. The overall color tone of these photos is bright and vibrant, with the blue, white, and yellow colors standing out sharply against the dimly lit aisles, while the dynamic action shots give the photos a wonderful storytelling feel.
