For this shoot featuring Cheshire's dress from Azur Lane, considerable effort was poured into the wardrobe styling and hair and makeup preparation. The dress revolves primarily around a blue-and-white palette; the upper bodice features a pale-blue lace-up corset spliced with delicate lace, accented by semi-sheer puff sleeves. To accentuate dimensional layering, the skirt utilizes numerous tiers of translucent white tulle, yielding beautiful motion whenever moving or holding a pose. The oversized lace bonnet perched on the head is a major highlight—its edges are dense with ruffled trims and finished at the back with a deep blue ribbon bow, requiring multiple bobby pins anchored into the wig to prevent slipping. For the wig, I selected short grey-blue hair with teal highlights, trimming the bangs to rest right above the eyebrows. Bright blue colored contacts were paired with generously blended blush and pink lip color, instantly channeling the Anime cosplay aesthetic.

The shoot was conducted in an indoor studio, styled with soft blue-green curtains for the backdrop, a pink upholstered fabric sofa draped with a printed tasseled throw, deep blue accent pillows, and several yellow plush toys. Floral arrangements included blue, white, and pink hydrangeas alongside a black metal ring prop. For lighting, a diffused key light covered with a layer of sheer fabric was used to soften contrast, lending a translucent clarity to skin tones. While posing, I explored various compositions across seated and standing setups. The seated pose leaned against the sofa backrest with the skirt hem fanned out, crossing the legs naturally to showcase the tactile texture of the White stockings and lace garter rings. The standing shot featured stepping onto a white metal stool with one leg raised, which accentuated leg contours and the crisscrossing blue ribbon wrapping around the thigh. Silver glitter high heels were also specifically matched to the tones of the dress. When posing, tucking the chin slightly while keeping shoulders relaxed was essential to prevent looking stiff in such a complex gown. Gestures had to remain measured so the lace and tulle wouldn't tangle, and with puffed sleeves, arm movements required care to avoid crushing the cuff trims. The makeup artist touched up the blush and lip gloss several times between takes, as strong studio lights easily wash out makeup saturation. Wrapping up this photo set gave me a renewed appreciation for the garment's tailoring and materials—the soft tulle truly translates with airy grace before the camera. I hope these notes provide helpful inspiration for anyone looking to shoot a similar style.
