Sorting through these photos after shooting Herrscher of Reason (Bronya cosplay) at Guiyang CT Comic-Con brought back a lot of emotions. Because the venue was relatively dark and crowded, photographer Lu Sensen and I constantly had to scout angles to dodge the crowd, utilizing available venue lighting and open spaces to forge a Cyberpunk mecha battle atmosphere. Putting on this gear was quite cumbersome—especially the mechanical arms and armor components on my back, which carried considerable weight and required significant stamina to maintain an upright posture.
This photo set underwent extensive post-processing for visual effects. Since there were no holographic projections or dynamic lighting effects at the convention venue, the blue light halos, floating cubes, luminous butterflies in the background, and the energy orb in hand were all added bit by bit in post-production, representing a massive workload. The costume's white, blue, and black color scheme accentuated a cool-toned sci-fi aesthetic. The asymmetrical leg design paired with White stockings also balanced the overall visual focus nicely.
Regarding the character, my understanding of 'with new power comes greater responsibility' represents the core shift in her mindset. Evolving from an ordinary girl into someone who can stand on her own, blending hard-core sci-fi Frame Arms Girl elements with the softness of flowing skirts was precisely what I aimed to highlight. In terms of action design, there is both the tension of floating forward with outstretched arms and the quiet composure of standing sideways, hoping to convey these emotions across different perspectives to everyone viewing the pictures.
Wearing such heavy, mechanical gear on the day of the shoot was genuinely exhausting, and convention lighting is often far from ideal, but seeing the shattered data fragments and surrounding energy halos in the final photos made every effort worthwhile. This shoot demanded strict precision in motion details: the billowing skirt hem and hand gestures channeling glowing energy required repeated fine-tuning. Thanks to the photographer's patience and inspiration, we were able to capture these moments. This hard-core sci-fi style heavily tests post-processing skill and expressive performance, and I hope everyone can feel the sense of power and responsibility belonging to this character.
