[Takanashi Hoshino cosplay] Blue Archive Pink-Haired Girl Photoshoot Record

Today's Blue Archive Takanashi Hoshino cosplay took quite a bit of effort, from styling to the final photos. First, regarding the wig: the pink bob might look simple, but trimming the bangs and side curves took a long time. To ensure that fluffy yet neat texture on camera, I used plenty of hair wax and styling spray, and securely anchored the halo hairpiece atop my head to prevent it from falling off while moving around.

As for the outfit, this dress features a white base with yellow vertical stripes and gold stars, with a blue-trimmed Chinese-style mandarin collar. To capture the airy lightness of this outfit, multiple inner lining layers were crafted, with the purple tulle on the hem stitched on separately. The long blue ribbon at the chest is the crowning touch; during the shoot, I had to constantly mind its drape so it wouldn't flutter around haphazardly.

I prepared two core props: one is the pink halo hairpiece made of acrylic, which had to be secured onto the wig, requiring careful angles during shooting to avoid exposing any seams. The other is a light blue hydrangea prop; although artificial flowers are light, they enriched the color palette of the frame beautifully on camera.

For makeup, since the character's eyes are distinctive, I wore blue contact lenses and kept the eye makeup minimal to emphasize the eye color. The blush was applied somewhat heavily to create an adorable, slightly dazed aura. The base makeup emphasized translucency, so light, sheer setting products were used.

The shooting location was set in an indoor exhibition hall featuring modern lighting and white pillars. To match the brightness of the scene, the photographer used a wide aperture for heavy background blur, making the character stand out prominently. Wearing White stockings tights meant having to pay special attention to leg lines and skirt coverage in seated poses to prevent wardrobe malfunctions. In one photo, an anti-exposure sticker was visible on the leg; while easily retouched in post-production, some raw shots kept this little detail.

The shooting process was physically demanding. Balancing in high heels on plush carpeting while keeping my upper body upright was tricky. Initially aiming for the character's signature languid vibe, I tried several seated poses like sitting sideways or hugging my knees. Later, I found that holding the floral bouquet or gently tugging the ribbon at the neckline added a touch of liveliness. Eye contact was equally crucial; rather than staring fixedly at the lens, glancing at the flowers or looking downward occasionally added much more narrative depth.

Looking back, while this outfit appears ethereal and floaty, putting it on and adjusting it is actually a hassle. The tulle along the hem in particular snags easily. Moreover, to bring out the layers between the White stockings tights and the skirt, lighting had to be meticulously managed—overexposure would wipe out details, while underexposure made things look dull. The photographer and I continually adjusted light positions to ensure the yellow stripes and gold stars were crisp and clear. Also, sitting on the carpet with a shorter skirt caused slight pressing on the thighs, requiring constant adjustments of my leg angle to keep the lines smooth and natural.

The lighting inside the hall was rather complex, with overhead lights easily casting shadows beneath the eyes and nose. The photographer added a softbox to illuminate my face, which, combined with the pink hair and blush, vastly improved my complexion. Overall, bringing the character's breezy, cheeky essence to life through the harmony of costume, wig, and lighting made every bit of preparation and adjustment truly worthwhile.
