【Seiga Kaku cosplay】Touhou Project: Close-to-the-Wall Fitting Log, Trying the Wall-passing pose Moment - Image 1

This Seiga Kaku costume fitting was done at home; with limited hallway space, I stood quite close to the wall. In Touhou Project canon lore, she excels at passing through walls, so being close to the wall was genuinely to get a feel for preparing that Wall-passing pose. Since this was a fitting session primarily to showcase the garment's silhouette and wig styling, I opted for a Mirror selfie.

The wig is vibrant blue with pronounced curls that catch the light eye-catchingly. The outfit is a tiered light-green dress with sheer, lightweight outer tulle. The inner white ruffles are quite substantial, so lifting the skirt hem immediately brings out the layered volume. A black belt cinches the waist with pink floral ornaments, creating a striking contrast. The sleeves feature a semi-sheer, off-the-shoulder design where hand movements allow the drapery folds to fall naturally.

While taking the Mirror selfie, I found posing my lower body tricky: lifting the skirt hem required great care, as lifting it too high exposed too much lining, while lifting it too low lost the tiered dimension. The White thigh-highs outfit paired with black platform shoes is a classic look that photographs wonderfully, visually elongating the legs. Since it was just a fitting, we didn't do an outdoor location shoot, sticking to this wall and mirror at home. The mirror was slightly angled, just right to show the trailing flow of the wig from the side. The post-adjusted cool-toned light complemented Seiga's blue hair nicely in the mirror. The fabric is fairly breathable—comfortable enough even for summer—though the skirt hem is long, so care is needed when dressing to avoid stepping on it. The black shoes have chunky, thick soles, feeling a bit heavy after standing for long, but their stable center of gravity helps you stand straighter when posing.

Overall, the fitting went smoothly; aside from the slippery fabric requiring me to constantly pinch the skirt hem while posing to keep it from slipping, there were no real issues. Attempting to channel the character's temperament while standing so close to the wall—feeling as if ready to phase right through—was truly a unique experience. If we find a suitable wall on a future outdoor shoot, I'll definitely recreate this iconic Wall-passing pose again. The main goal this time was clearly capturing every detail of the costume and seeing which mirror angle best showcased this White thigh-highs outfit coordination. Finding the right posture took time: lifting the skirt from the side flattered body proportions, while bending forward slightly toward the mirror captured front details of the skirt hem. The white tulle skirt is slightly sheer, so I wore safety shorts underneath. After shooting for nearly an hour, this shot felt just right—keeping edges clean with complete composition. That wraps up this fitting log for now!
