The visual combination of red eyes and pinkish-white hair for Evernight in Honkai: Star Rail captivated me the moment I first saw her concept art. Thus, the preparation for this cosplay began with focusing on Character accuracy in makeup and styling details.

The part that required the most effort was trimming and layering the wig. Evernight's hairstyle isn't sleek and neat, but rather possesses a casual yet flamboyant messy vibe. To make the bangs and sideburns express an airy and fragmented texture, I repeatedly thinned out the ends with thinning shears during trimming, finally using wax to pick out a few stray strands. Combined with the metallic flower headpiece on top, this ultimately recreated that slightly wild yet exquisite visual trait.

The outfit's pairing revolves around three high-contrast main colors: black, red, and white. The black trench coat on the upper body is structured with silver outlines, paired with a clean and sharp white turtleneck base layer inside. The wide sleeve design at the cuffs is a highlight, and together with translucent white chiffon streamers, it adds a lot of ethereal movement. The lower body's white thigh-high stockings and the leg strap with black metal buckles serve as the finishing touch of the entire look, giving this Anime-style fashion outfit both uniform-like crispness and the character's unique charm. The shoe design is also quite interesting: the black-and-red high heels combined with white leg warmers and metal buckles at the ankles create a great dynamic gait effect when walking.

Gloves and other props are also details that must be treated seriously. The glossy black leather gloves have very noticeable reflections under the lighting, which nicely enhances the character's cool and stern aura. As for the dark long-handled prop I held in the full-body shots, I deliberately adjusted the holding angle to accommodate the cramped indoor space. Under the red ambient lighting, the reflective surfaces of the prop merged with the outfit, forming a fantastic visual continuity.

During Cosplay photography for this set, the overall lighting logic revolved around creating an atmosphere of "the long night following like a shadow." Giving up conventional natural daylight, we utilized a mix of alternating red and white cinematic lights. When the red rim light hits the pinkish-white wig, it reveals deeper pinkish-purple tones that visually echo the red contact lenses. The pitch-black background perfectly accentuates the subject's outline and the metallic accessories' luster. Close-up shots and full-body mirror shots showcase two distinct perspectives—one still and one dynamic—perfectly conveying Evernight's mysterious yet dangerous character vibe.

The photography stage also involved some trade-offs. Close-up shots test facial expressions and eye gaze; wearing red contact lenses causes slight optical shifts, taking several angle adjustments to capture that sharp gaze. Meanwhile, for full-body mirror selfies, space constraints required using a stand and infrared remote for focusing. Pictures 3 and 4 were shot directly with a phone in this low-light environment, with lighting focused on the subject's silhouette and leg lines—which is why full-body shots intuitively showcase the white stocking pairings and costume waist proportions. This blend of "Gothic style" and "anime techwear" truly makes the final photos stand out with high recognizability.

The entire photo generation process went through long makeup styling and debugging, but when this set of Evernight cosplay work finally stood before my eyes, I felt all past detail polishing was worthwhile. This is a passionate interpretation of the original work and my own way of materializing the character's traits. I hope everyone can feel the dedication I poured into preparing this cosplay through these details.
