The photoshoot for Ch'en the Holungday was deliberately scheduled during the afternoon when the lighting was at its best, taking place inside a vehicle. Utilizing the dappled natural light streaming through the car windows enhanced the quintessential summer vibe. A bright blue wig was chosen, and to prevent it from looking excessively heavy, each strand was carefully combed and directed before shooting to ensure it fell with effortless, casual dynamism. Because the wig fibers inherently carry a sheen that easily over-reflects in the car's confined lighting, matte styling spray was applied to tone down excessive shine.

For makeup, reddish-brown eyeshadow and deep red contact lenses were primarily used to visually echo the red heart motif on the cap. Shading around the eye sockets was crafted with care to add depth, drawing intense focus to the gaze. A lightweight, long-lasting foundation was applied so that even under direct natural sunlight, the skin maintained a clean, matte finish. This translucent base is crucial for embodying the Summer swimsuit style, which inherently demands a crisp, refreshing look in 2D aesthetics. Nose contouring and lips were kept natural, with a high-shine pink lip gloss adding a plump, jelly-like texture.

Regarding wardrobe, the contrast between the glossy black swimwear and the white jacket shaped the silhouette. Although glossy black fabric is visually striking, controlling its reflections under light is tricky; harsh hot spots had to be avoided when framing angles. The natural drape of the white jacket softly broke up the black areas, providing clean visual segmentation. The mint green baseball cap served as the visual centerpiece, while metal-framed sunglasses rested on the brim as the finishing touch, creating a sharp aesthetic clash against the long blue hair.

Finding the right angles inside the cramped car interior took considerable time, relying on the seats and window glass reflections for framing. After multiple adjustments, a slightly upward-angled perspective was chosen, letting light streaming through the window sculpt defined light-and-shadow lines across the face, highlighting the bridge of the nose. This angle was also ideal for showcasing the eye makeup and wig details. While cropping couldn't include the full body, it maximized the exquisite precision of the face and head styling. Maintaining natural expressions while tracking the shifting light on the face to catch the perfect shutter moment was demanding, but the final results were very satisfying.

In post-processing, skin tones were lightly retouched while preserving natural lighting dynamics, keeping the overall palette clear, translucent, and summery. The resulting photos not only capture the character's signature traits but also deliver the unique charm of this Ch'en cosplay. This in-car shoot was a rewarding exploration of creative environments; given future opportunities, I would love to explore outdoor locations to present this Summer swimsuit styling even more comprehensively.
