Shooting this Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Phantasm Carnival series truly fulfilled a long-cherished wish of mine. From the moment I first saw the design drafts for this pink-and-white stage outfit, I kept envisioning in my mind how to bring out that blend of pure sweetness and vibrant, energetic charm.

The garment details were thoroughly maxed out. The top not only retained classic ruffles and lace elements, but also featured white heart-shaped accents on the shoulders; this puffy silhouette made me appear even more petite and delicate. What satisfied me most was that oversized pink-and-white ribbon headband, alongside the pink lace wrist cuffs, which echoed the overarching color scheme flawlessly. The lower half featured a tiered pink cupcake skirt, which, combined with over-the-knee White stockings and straps tied with delicate little bows, visually elongated my leg lines. Paired with fluffy bunny-eared platform slippers, the cuteness level was pushed straight to its absolute peak.

The venue on the shoot day was a very warmly decorated indoor studio. The backdrop consisted of curtains adorned with white lace patterns, with soft pink-tinted light filtering through from the outside, instantly elevating the dreamy atmosphere of the entire set. As a female photographer based in Huizhou, her sensitivity to light was remarkably sharp. We spent a long time discussing framing, composition, and color saturation. To complement this soft, adorable style, we deliberately shot with a wide aperture to achieve a hazy, dreamy background blur, keeping the visual focus squarely on my facial expressions and costume details.

The shoot was honestly more physically demanding than anticipated. Cradling that massive blue-eyed white rabbit plushie continuously while maintaining natural seated poses and glancing back over my shoulder required tight posture control. I strove to immerse myself in the character's mindset, channeling a lively yet mischievous aura. The photographer was incredibly skilled at guiding my mood, encouraging me to cast off any tension and interact naturally with the plush toy to capture candid glances. Looking at the final photos, this organic interplay brought immense vitality to the frames—such as the shots where I leaned sideways looking down at the rabbit, or turned my back to glance over my shoulder toward the camera, where my eyes conveyed both sweetness and an earnest focus.

The overarching palette relied on low-saturation pinks and pure whites—a result not just of post-processing, but also of careful on-set lighting and prop coordination. We attached softboxes to the lighting units to simulate the soft, diffused glow of a fairy-tale realm, ensuring my skin texture looked luminous and translucent. Devoid of harsh contrast or heavy shadows, the series relied on the balance of color harmony and composition to craft a soft, healing visual experience.

Every cosplay outing is a fresh journey, particularly with costumes boasting such intricate details and distinctive aesthetics, demanding meticulous polish from hair and makeup to choreography. Bringing this set to fruition alongside everyone was an utter joy, deepening my affection for Illya as a character. I truly hope this collection conveys all of that sweet warmth to everyone.
