[Hatsune Miku cosplay] Christmas shortcake look, winter white plush outfit

The theme chosen for this shoot is Hatsune Miku's classic Christmas look, fondly known by many fans as the "Christmas shortcake" set. During the shoot, the overall set design leaned toward a cozy and bright winter Christmas vibe, striving to recreate that fluffy, warm texture.

As for this outfit combination, it is overall a pure white winter plush set. The white neckline features a slight stand-collar design, paired with a thick, soft white plush shawl, which not only looks visually rich but also provided great warmth during the shoot. A small silver bell pendant was specially attached to the chest, adding a metallic detail to the pure white theme. The bottom consists of white high-waisted shorts with plush trim along the edges, echoing the shawl nicely. White stockings are a crucial part of the whole look; their smooth texture presents a soft matte finish under warm lights, elongating leg lines while fitting the winter snow atmosphere perfectly. Wide white plush leg warmers were worn at the ankles, full of fluff like the gloves, exuding a strong winter outfit feel.

Head accessories are also packed with details. On my head are white plush earmuffs and a red-and-white ribbon headband with a delicate snowflake or small charm in the center, matching the overall color scheme. The wig uses the classic mint green (Miku green) with smooth, glossy strands, trimmed to an appropriate twintail length with styled bangs, making the overall hairstyle look fresh and natural.

For the set arrangement, we simulated a cozy corner of a Christmas cottage. In the background stood a fully decorated Christmas tree adorned with silver ornaments and pendants, alongside a table draped with classic red-and-green Scottish tartan cloth. Vintage teasets, small pine branches, and candles were neatly arranged on the table, surrounded by red and green gift boxes tied with golden ribbons. The floor was covered with an off-white shaggy rug; its plush texture blended seamlessly with the outfit, creating an overall fluffy aesthetic on camera. The rattan bamboo chair used in Picture 4 was also a great prop, adding depth to the composition.

During shooting, low angles and eye-level angles were primarily used. In Pictures 1 and 2, I sat on the rug; performing stretching or knee-bending movements allowed the visual presentation of the white stockings to look more natural while highlighting the feeling of being bundled up in winter plush. In Picture 3, kneeling on both knees while pulling my twintails made the frame much more lively. In Picture 4, curling up in the rattan chair while holding my knees with a small red box next to me gave a feeling of quietly waiting with a gift in winter. This set layout with depth, combined with soft and even studio lighting, placed the subject right at the visual center without clutter at the edges, creating a fantastic atmosphere.

The real challenge of this shoot lay in balancing the cuteness of the "Christmas shortcake" look with professional cosplay execution. The plush material of the costume tends to absorb light, so considerable thought was put into studio lighting setup to preserve edge details without blowing out highlights. I also used a neat trick when wearing headpieces over the wig to avoid flattening the hair strands on top. The texture of the props harmonized wonderfully with the outfit, making this a highly ceremonial Christmas cosplay experience where my personal interpretation of classic Hatsune Miku styling was woven into every detail of the shoot.
