[Lynae cosplay] The Gunslinger Girl from Wuthering Waves, Hitting the Streets with My Props Today

I've finally managed to shoot this complete look of Lynae. A white shirt paired with a black pleated skirt, a cyan-and-white grid tie, headphones, and a name tag—the overall vibe is a highly sharp, tactical academy style. My absolute favorite part is this long gradient hair, transitioning from gold to lake blue. The length of the hair tips and the layering are highly accurate, and the braids on both sides make my head silhouette look much fuller. Although the skull hairpin on my forehead is a tiny detail, it instantly captures the character's soul.

To match this character's temperament, I specifically chose an outdoor street setting. Everyday scenes like stone pillars and streets actually give 2D outfits a wonderful sense of reality. Holding the prop gun in my hand naturally brought out a cool, tense energy in my poses, though I was actually a bit afraid of dropping it, haha! The daytime natural light was incredible, making the wig's colors look translucent and my skin appear very clear, requiring almost no post-processing.

We went through several different poses during the shoot. My favorite is the one where I'm sitting on a stone block making a peace sign; the black over-knee socks (black tights outfit) paired with thick-soled ankle boots beautifully elongate my leg lines, while my center of gravity sinks down, looking both cool and relaxed. The standing and crouching gun-holding poses also carry a great combat atmosphere—especially when crouching, the fluttering motion of the skirt hem and the jacket was captured perfectly. Actually, this outfit is packed with details, such as the tactical straps at the waist and the prints on the skirt. During the shoot, we deliberately let the light hit the metal buckles, which really brought out the texture.

Whenever I do a shoot with weapon props, I always pay extra attention to safety. The prop gun is strictly for posing and is never pointed at any passersby. Occasionally, pedestrians walking by would glance over, but everyone was very friendly. I feel the charm of cosplay lies in creating a temporary parallel space in the real world. Putting on this outfit and standing in the sunshine makes me feel like I’ve adopted her decisive personality. For my base and eye makeup, I also used a soft pink eyeshadow to neutralize the overall cool tone, adding a touch of softness to my gaze.

This set took a lot of thought from prep to shooting—styling the wig, managing the skirt pleats, and even the way the color-blocked jacket was worn were adjusted repeatedly. But seeing the final edits made it all feel completely worth it. The photographer's candid captures were also amazing, blending dynamic and static elements beautifully. I'll continue to try more similar styles in the future to bring out the details and expressions to an even higher level. I hope this clean yet powerful styling brings you a different feeling, and a huge thank you to all the friends who always support my cosplay. The shoot was absolutely full of laughter.
