[Komeiji Koishi cosplay] Touhou Project Komeiji Koishi: Witch Lolita Style Park Outdoor Shoot

Today's cosplay look for Komeiji Koishi primarily blends witch and Lolita elements. The wig is a light green wavy cut with carefully styled layers and slightly curled bangs, making it sit naturally under the wide-brimmed black witch hat. The lace trim along the hat brim has a refined texture without feeling over the top.

For the outfit, the beige and dark green patchwork design carries an antique vintage vibe. The chest and cuffs of the blouse are embellished with abundant black lace trim, while green fabric at the collar keeps the overall color palette harmonized. The black lace choker around the neck serves not only as an ornament, but also bridges the proportions between head and torso nicely. The skirt is a multi-layered petticoat dress where dark green fabric intertwines with black lace and ruffles to create abundant visual depth. While moving, the lace and ruffles drape naturally, and letting the skirt flare slightly during the shoot added dynamic motion to the frames.

For props, the slender magic wand in my right hand was decorated with blue blossoms and trailing vines, and the curved purple prop on the left was custom-made specifically to match this ensemble. The outdoor park setting provided a lush backdrop of trees and lawns, with dappled light and shadow falling across wooden park benches to perfectly complement this vintage attire. Shooting around the benches and stone pavers offered versatile framing options for both seated and standing poses.

In terms of accessories, I wore patterned black lace thigh-high stockings paired with black platform Mary Jane shoes. The jacquard texture of the stockings is delicate and shows crisp detail on camera, while the platform shoes visually elongate leg lines. During the shoot, I tested several postures; crossing my legs while seated on the bench caught the best light, clearly capturing the silhouette and intricate details while making the leg lines appear slender. For standing shots, angling the body slightly highlighted the presence of the wand and prop.

For makeup, the look was kept low-saturation throughout. Green contact lenses echoed the hair color, and the eye makeup was kept subtle to emphasize natural contours. The base makeup used a fair foundation, paying close attention to shadow transitions under sunlight to avoid an overly pale look. A natural rosy nude was selected for the lips to maintain a fresh, translucent finish. Since outdoor daylight is intense, setting makeup thoroughly was essential to prevent shine from affecting the photos.

From preparation to shooting on location, this session took considerable time. The layered outfit is somewhat tricky to put on and adjust, requiring care to smooth out the lace and accessories. Outdoor shoots depend heavily on natural lighting; the late afternoon sun was soft rather than harsh, which suited this character style wonderfully. I coordinated compositions with the photographer, using leading lines from the benches and trees to guide the viewer's eye. Shooting outdoors also meant prepping for mosquito prevention, as moving near bushes in stockings and a skirt makes bug bites likely. The lace and accessories needed gentle handling between takes to prevent snags. The purple prop and wand both have floral decorations, requiring care when setting them down near hard surfaces. Overall, this styling balanced character recognizability with my personal aesthetic. The combination of witch hat and Lolita dress created striking visual contrast outdoors, and the props elevated the character's ambiance. The weather was cooperative with pleasant sun, and the shoot wrapped up smoothly. I'll take my time sorting through the shots after heading home.
