Organizing the shooting concept and visual presentation for this Kasugano Sora cosplay Qipao look involved quite a bit of preparation. The smooth fabric of the modified white Qipao was quite reflective, so softboxes were used during the indoor shoot to suppress harsh highlights on the surface of the clothing. In terms of styling, pure white over-the-knee White stockings and long gloves were paired to maintain tonal consistency, ensuring the white hem and stocking material rendered cleanly under the lights. The entire shoot utilized mirror framing in a Mirror selfie style, where I held the phone to block my face behind the lens so the focus stayed squarely on body movement. Specifically, several poses were tested: the first was sitting sideways with crossed legs, utilizing the Qipao's high slit to emphasize leg lines and spatial depth; the second was sitting on a chair with legs stretched straight, focusing on showcasing the texture of the White stockings and the natural flow of leg contours; the third was a standing pose with ankles crossed, visually elongating proportions while using a folding fan in hand to keep the posture fluid rather than stiff. The round indoor rug and plain curtains provided a clean background free of clutter. Because this required framing via mirror reflections, every minute adjustment to body angle, phone position, and fan tilt had to be repeatedly verified to ensure accurate proportions in the mirror frame. This shoot focused primarily on presenting the interplay between body contours and costume.
