Since Instructor Kokona is here to oversee our progress, I naturally had to bring my absolute best dedication to this shoot. This time, I cosplayed Sunohara Kokona from Blue Archive. To honor the Cat girl and Sweet girl archetype, extensive preparations were made well in advance. The shooting location was set on an outdoor lawn at night, where we spread out a large white plush carpet—not only insulating against the damp grass, but also acting as a natural reflector against the dark backdrop.

The garment details are wonderfully intricate. The core piece is a black sleeveless modernized qipao featuring fine white vertical pinstripes that capture rich texture on camera. The neckline features a traditional Chinese standing collar fastened with a vivid red frog button in front, serving as the brightest pop of color against the black dress. To allow fluidity of movement, the skirt has high side slits layered over a white pleated underskirt. The head accessories are another major highlight: grey-and-white animal ears with soft pink inner lining look remarkably spirited, topped by a blue headband styled with a purple ribbon bow and side antennae accents tipped with pink spheres, flawlessly recreating her Cat girl traits.

For hair and makeup, I wore a silver-white long straight wig with black under-streaks woven through the bangs and strands for dimensional contrast. To match the character, I selected light amber-colored contacts and swept a soft flush of pinkish-red around the eyes and cheeks to enhance that youthful Sweet girl vitality. During the shoot, the night breeze outdoors was quite brisk, blowing the wig out of place multiple times and demanding continuous touch-ups. Photos 1 and 2 feature seiza kneeling postures on the plush blanket, placing hands near the collar or lifting the white skirt hem, with eyes striving to express the instructor's earnest yet sweetly caring demeanor.

Photo 3 is my personal favorite: reclining sideways on the white blanket, a high-angle shot elongates the leg lines while fully showcasing the cascading contrast between the striped dress and the white pleated hem. In a Night view cosplay shoot, the greatest hurdle is lighting control. To keep the subject crisp, the frontal key light was dialed up generously to carve out stark contrast between the white hair and dark attire, while fill lights preserved distant background bokeh circles to conjure that tranquil nocturnal serenity.

Sometimes I genuinely wish I could live inside the 2D world, filled with such vibrant and charming characters. As a dedicated cosplayer, translating a two-dimensional persona into three dimensions through garments, styling, and the camera lens is an immensely rewarding journey. Although adjusting angles across the grass while enduring the cold night air was challenging, seeing the camera playback made every bit of fatigue melt away. Instructor Kokona's supervision is strict, and I consider this mission successfully accomplished. I hope everyone looking through these photos can feel the gentle night breeze and Kokona's heartfelt dedication.
