Ryuge Kisaki's look in Blue Archive hides many details waiting to be uncovered; though it looks understated, there are plenty of nuances worth examining when putting it together. For this shoot, I specially selected a wooden grid background and a tea room full of ancient charm. Placing small props like a folding fan, Go board, and a teapot next to me allows the entire frame to naturally exude the composure and calmness inherent to the character. The ambient light of the scene was very dim, which perfectly accentuated the texture of the costume. As for the wig, the two buns were made full and sturdy, and the blue butterfly hair accessory on the side was the perfect finishing touch. The long straight hair flows down naturally, paired with neat straight bangs, matching the original design's silhouette as closely as possible.

The makeup was kept as clean as possible, with an emphasis on the eyesβ€”the slightly upward-flicked eyeliner added a hint of sharpness, balancing the overall aura with my round face shape. Additionally, to match the character's temperament, a matte rose lipstick was chosen so it wouldn't look too out of place. Regarding the outfit, the dark blue patterned qipao features an off-the-shoulder design, layered with a gray-and-white striped suit jacket on the outside, creating a rich sense of visual depth. To showcase different facets, the shoot captured both a subtle look half-hidden behind a black folding fan, and a relaxed moment sitting on a traditional armchair with legs crossed; the addition of black stockings gives the look more completeness. This combination feels closer to the character's private space than a single dress or suit.

The on-site lighting used warm yellow tones to lower the ambient brightness, making the Chinese-style theme atmosphere richer. This collision of warm light and the cool tone of the dark blue qipao is actually quite interesting. Every time I do a Roleplay of a favorite character, I spend extra thought on props and settings; besides getting the outfit right, I also want to recreate that oriental charm from the original artwork. Trying to understand the character's calmness in the storyline was also a major takeaway from this Anime-style photography session.
