[Ryuge Kisaki cosplay] Blue Archive: A Classroom Fairy Tale on Children's Day

The theme for this shoot was Children's Day, and we chose a Kindergarten cosplay outfit with a distinct school atmosphere. I portrayed Ryuge Kisaki cosplay in a pink long-sleeved top with a white collar, while my partner did Sunohara Kokona cosplay in a matching blue-toned top. We wore matching yellow dome hats, yellow crossbody straps over our shoulders, and our respective round class badges pinned to our chests, paired uniformly with navy pleated skirts, knee-high white stockings, and white buckle Mary Jane shoes. The color palette of the entire ensemble centered on bright pink, blue, yellow, and white, brimming with playful innocence and vitality. The White tights cosplay look is an iconic element of this styling, complementing the pleated skirt design to highlight the students' innocent, youthful charm. The white buckle shoes looked fantastic against the wooden floors, harmonizing perfectly with the high-key lighting.

The shooting location was a school classroom featuring natural wood-toned flooring, neatly arranged metal-legged desks and chairs, a large green blackboard at the back, lockers, a globe, and art easels. We utilized natural light filtering into the classroom, supported by fill lights to craft the cozy ambiance of afternoon sunlight. During the shoot, we explored two distinct moods: in one, we sat directly on the wooden floor using the sunspots dappling the ground as foreground accents, with clean rim lighting that evoked the intimacy of chatting in the classroom after school. In the other, we both sat atop the desks with the chairs casually pushed aside, adding a mischievous, relaxed touch, while my partner on the right lightly raised a leg to bring dynamic rhythm to the frame.

To align with the festive spirit of Children's Day, we avoided overly theatrical poses, focusing instead on natural, relaxed body language. The styling of the twin-tails and silver-white wigs was groomed smoothly and naturally, flattering our facial contours nicely. For makeup, we made refined adjustments tailored to the characters' personalities, emphasizing expressive eyes to convey a vibrant, energetic demeanor. The yellow dome hats were the crowning touch of the entire look, instantly selling the adorable kindergarten vibe upon wearing them.

This shoot wouldn't have been possible without the expert direction of photographer @翎羽, whose eye for capturing light and shadow was impeccable—especially the silhouettes cast by sunlight through the windows across the desks and floor, maximizing translucent clarity. Warm thanks also go to my partner @yuyu for her seamless teamwork as we brought Ryuge Kisaki cosplay and Sunohara Kokona cosplay to life together. During the shoot, we exchanged glances and adjusted our angles to ensure balanced visual presence and showcase all the charming details of the characters. While Children's Day is traditionally meant for kids, dressing in these kindergarten uniforms and wandering through the classroom offered immense joy and satisfaction for cosplay enthusiasts like us. Throughout the process, I paid strict attention to fine details—like checking badge placement and smoothing garment folds—because in roleplay, these subtle nuances are the soul of character fidelity. Mishandling contrasting colors can easily look chaotic, but our pink, blue, and yellow palette proved harmonious and clean on camera, radiating youthful brilliance. Capturing such a memorable work on this special holiday made for a truly wonderful Blue Archive photoshoot.
