[Hatsune Miku Cosplay] Dark Bunny girl in the Rabbit Hole

The theme of this shoot is Hatsune Miku's Rabbit Hole look, with an overall visual style blending dark aesthetics and industrial vibes. In terms of wardrobe, this black patent leather bodysuit dress has fantastic sheen, though in practice it creases quite easily and required constant smoothing out before each take. To accentuate the character's traits, I styled it with a classic white shirt collar, a large pink bow, and a fluffy white bunny tail on the back. For the wig, I went with signature ice-blue locks featuring custom pink gradient tips, accessorizing the bangs with a black X-shaped hair clip and fastening the twin-tails with black bows.

The makeup emphasized under-eye blush paired with ice-blue contact lenses, aiming to create a delicate look straddling the line between 2D stylization and realism through cool eye tones balanced by rosy lips. For the lower half, Black fishnet stockings and chunky high heels were chosen, beautifully flattering body proportions in front of the camera.

The outdoor location was chosen in an area with a gritty industrial feel, featuring corrugated metal doors, distressed weathered walls, and a dimly lit bar counter. To complement the surroundings, instead of flat diffuse soft lighting, we opted for a stronger, harsher key light accented by cool blue rim lighting from the side. This dramatically emphasized the glossy reflections on the patent leather while dropping the background into shadow, focusing all visual attention on the subject.

Regarding props, the red ribbon was the core element running throughout the entire set. Beyond acting as a vibrant pop of color, it served as a tool for emotional expression and interaction. For instance, in several kneeling shots, having my wrists bound and pulled upward with the ribbon not only highlighted bodily lines but also evoked a fragile yet dangerous narrative tension. Holding a glass of ice water was another touch to inject a sense of real-life authenticity into the frame.

We ran into several hiccups during the shoot—for example, the patent leather tended to stick to the skin after holding a pose for too long, meaning the garment had to be adjusted with every shift in position. The wig styling also became prone to flyaways due to the summer heat, requiring frequent touch-ups with styling spray and combs. However, because the styling harmonized so seamlessly with the location, seeing the final edits made all the meticulous prep feel completely worth it. We explored numerous angles and postures throughout the shoot, aiming to bring out the playful yet mysterious depth of Hatsune Miku's Rabbit Hole concept.
