This set of Taihou Crimson Celebration cosplay photos is finally meeting everyone. The drape of the red satin halter-neck dress is exceptional, presenting a gorgeous gloss under natural light. To recreate that unique temperament of the character, I deliberately chose this slightly reddish eye makeup paired with red contact lenses, which gives a piercing intensity when looking straight into the lens. The shooting location was chosen on a spiral staircase with retro iron railings, where the light-colored marble steps happen to reflect light, making the overall lighting of the frame more translucent and avoiding the dullness easily brought by dark clothing.
Shooting Taihou this time, the biggest challenge actually lay in capturing her expression and demeanor. Taihou gives people a sweet feeling imbued with a hint of danger, so when looking at the lens, I deliberately made my gaze more focused. In terms of pose design, I utilized red ribbons as a prop. Whether gently biting, pulling, or wrapping them between my fingers, it enhances the interactive feel and tension of the frame. Regarding sitting poses, to better showcase the details of the black lace-trimmed over-the-knee stockings and red patent leather high heels, I tried different angles like crossed legs, one leg bent and one leg straight, and even took off one shoe to use as a prop. The natural light coming from the side happened to outline the leg lines, appearing even more layered against the backdrop of black stockings.
Regarding the costume matching, the black garter stockings and red glossy high heels form a striking red-and-black color contrast, which is also a major eye-catching point in the entire outfit. The tulle train of the skirt is very long, and spreading it out on the stairs creates a gorgeous visual effect; meanwhile, the high-slit design also reveals the leg lines when walking or sitting. Since the platform of the high heels is quite high, I needed to be especially careful when moving up and down the stairs. During the shoot, I would consciously lift the skirt hem or let it scatter naturally, utilizing the extension of the steps to enrich the composition and prevent the frame from looking too monotonous. The red cord held in hand echoes the choker, making the overall styling more complete.
As everyone knows, that line—"As long as it's about the Commander, Taihou wants to know everything, because Taihou's eyes only hold the Commander"—this single-minded emotional state is the core of portraying Taihou. Therefore, during shooting breaks, I would constantly ponder this emotion and strive to present it in front of the lens. During post-processing and retouching, the main adjustments were made to the smooth texture and gloss of the red dress, as well as the integration between skin tone and the environment, preserving natural shadow layers without excessive smoothing. I hope this Crimson Celebration allows everyone to feel Taihou's passion.
