Putting on this black-and-blue color-blocked one-piece swimsuit and standing by the poolside, the feeling of summer rushed over me instantly. The shooting theme this time is "Blue Summer," so the overall color scheme selected clear light blue and pure white, cooperating with soft natural diffused light to present a clean and slightly cool atmosphere.
A lot of thought actually went into the details of this makeup and styling. The silver-gray short hair with front bangs, combined with the black-and-white cat ears and that iconic blue halo, instantly captures the character's spirit visually. To better fit the pool scene, I specially chose black thick-soled sandals paired with a large black shoulder bag, which balances practicality while keeping the overall look from being too monotonous. The swimsuit itself features an open-back design with striking cyan color-blocking on the side, highlighting body lines nicely under the sun. During the shoot, back and side perspectives were intentionally selected for several shots to fully showcase the tailoring features of the garment.
The location is a modern-style open-air pool area, surrounded by blue-green pillars, white hollow brick walls, black-and-white striped casual cushions, and a small rattan coffee table. The combination of these elements gives the frame a resort hotel quality, without too much cluttered background distraction, allowing the focus to fall naturally on the subject. During the shooting process, various poses such as standing and looking back, crouching, and leaning against a lounge chair were attempted. The half-body close-up in Figure 4 is my personal favorite—with eyes staring directly at the camera, the light and shadow on the face are very soft, and the texture of the hair strands and props is clearly visible, making it perfect for the cover.
Honestly, when shooting a swimsuit photo for Anime cosplay, the biggest fear is a stiff expression or unnatural movements. So this time, I tried my best to stay relaxed, just like playing by the water normally, occasionally running a hand through my hair or turning sideways to organize the bag, capturing that casual and slightly playful state. Not too much complex retouching was done in post-processing, retaining the skin's original luster and the environment's translucent feel, which fits the refreshing summer theme better. As an outdoor swimsuit shoot for an Anime cosplay character, the entire process was very pleasant, and the results basically achieved the expected effect. I hope to pass on that sense of refreshing summer coolness to everyone who sees this set of images.
