For this seaside shoot of Phoebe from Wuthering Waves, the outfit was completely styled by myself. Wanting to harmonize with the summery beach atmosphere, I steered clear of heavy elements and opted for a loose blue-and-white checkered camisole dress with delicate blue lace spliced at the hem. The color palette resonated beautifully with the ocean and sky, and the lightweight fabric gave it an airy, fluttering feel in the coastal breeze for this Phoebe Cosplay.
Regarding the wig, to faithfully capture the character's charm, I selected long, wavy blonde curls to portray this lively Blonde girl. With high seaside humidity, curls tend to deflate or turn frizzy; before heading out, I applied generous amounts of hair care oil and continuously smoothed the strands by hand throughout the shoot. The blue cross hairpin worn on my head was the crowning touch; paired with the straw hat, it not only enriched head details but also offered physical sun protection. To counter the harsh coastal sunlight, I intensified the reddish eye blending and blush while wearing light-toned contact lenses. Because seawater reflects intense light, I set the base makeup with a generous layer of loose powder to prevent sweat from breaking it down.
This shoot owes so much to the guidance of photographer @LittleRedRidingHood. Coastal lighting can be very harsh, especially around midday, easily casting deep facial shadows. We chose hours when the sunlight was softer, using reflectors to fill light so skin textures were preserved while keeping a clean, cool color tone throughout this Seaside photoshoot. In the first shot, holding the balloons while adjusting the hat happened right as a gust of sea breeze swept past; the upward lift of the balloons prompted me to catch the brim naturally, letting my body lean gracefully, which kept the frame from feeling static.
The second picture was captured while walking. Walking on a sandy beach truly tests both footwear and endurance; I wore matching platform sandals, which provided some height, though controlling my center of gravity on sand to prevent stumbling was essential. Walking with open strides allowed the dress to billow naturally with the wind, paired with raising both hands to adjust my hat for an effortless, airy poise.
The third image is a split collage. The top frame shows me waving with my back turned to the lens. Back-view compositions are wonderful for displaying the texture of long wavy hair and the garment's overall drape; if you ever struggle with poses during casual shoots, try this pose of looking away toward the distance while waving. In the bottom frame looking out sideways, the straw hat works as a handy prop—resting a hand lightly on the forehead solves the question of where to place hands while naturally showcasing facial contours.
Whenever doing outdoor shoots, wardrobe choices must accommodate the actual shooting environment. Blue and white is an absolute safe bet by the seaside, and the balloon props infused the frame with vibrant playfulness and youthful joy. The entire shoot was delightful, and this Self-styled outfit sharing turned out far better than expected.
