[Texas cosplay] Texas the Omertosa and the Greatsword Photoshoot Journal - Image 1

This time I am doing a cosplay of Texas the Omertosa from Arknights, a look I have wanted to challenge for a very long time. The black coat, white boots, animal ears, and tail, along with that iconic longsword—the texture and weight of the entire gear are actually much heavier than imagined. Especially the sword rack on the back and the fastening of the cape; to maintain that flowing yet dashing movement in the frame, we repeatedly adjusted our positioning and angles multiple times during the shoot. However, seeing the cool-toned atmosphere in the final photos, combined with the vintage grandfather clock and plaster statues, it truly recreated the operator's calm and composed temperament amidst a solemn and chilling atmosphere. The details of the props were also specially treated; the gradient paint on the blade and the patterns on the handguard look highly layered under the studio lighting. I really love the division of light and shadow in this set of photos—on one side are the cool white highlights, and on the other are the deep shadows, which perfectly fits the character's silent yet sharp personality in the storyline. As an enthusiast of female operator cosplay, even though my Texas isn't the absolute peak, at least within this lens, I am willing to do my best to display her most handsome profile. The photographer's snapshots were very precise, freezing the fluttering moments of the skirt and cape in their absolute best state. I hope this set of work allows fellow fans to feel my dedication to this character, as I did a lot of homework from the wig styling to the costume tailoring for this Arknights cosplay session.
