This shoot brought Arknights' Pozëmka to life within a courtyard framed by traditional Chinese timber architecture, furnished with authentic historical set dressing. Guided by the character's lore and setting, the color scheme leaned into blue, white, and soft pink; the sheer chiffon fabric caught strong directional light with breathtaking translucence. Pre-production was extensive—styling the hair ornaments and the iconic pink kemonomimi cosplay ears required hours of careful trimming to achieve a natural fur texture. The photographer used a hard key light to simulate bright direct sunlight, rendering skin tones luminous and clear; however, the angle was unforgiving, and shifting slightly altered facial shadows, demanding rehearsed postures with minimal variation to keep illumination balanced. The tasseled hair accessories also had to be kept clear of harsh hot spots to prevent visual clutter.

Traditional style cosplay differs markedly from standard studio sets, placing greater emphasis on body weight distribution and fluid curvature. In the first shot featuring a cross-legged seated posture, we tested leg angles and arm placements repeatedly to avoid accidental exposure while letting the sheer skirt cascade naturally. The reclining shot was physically demanding—propped up mostly by cushions—yet holding that position across multiple takes was necessary to convey that effortless, languid grace. Post-processing focused on restoring pure blue and white tones; because the dark weathered timber absorbed heavy amounts of light, pulling down background exposures while lifting the subject accentuated that cool, celestial atmosphere. The shoot was meticulous, but the lighting results fully realized our vision.

For makeup, pink contact lenses matched Pozëmka's eyes, complemented by tonal pink eyeshadow to give the gaze piercing depth. A dewy, glossy lip tint provided a hydrated, vibrant finish. The multilayered garment required careful adjustment to prevent the white outer drape and blue lining from crumpling together. Props like the calligraphy scroll and brush were quintessential, laid out as foreground framing or tucked beneath the figure while carefully angled to avoid paper glare. Pink blossom branches were intentionally hung to create dreamy bokeh and layered depth. The dim environment required frequent reflector bounce fill, making sustained expression control exhausting. Although I brought slippers, I went barefoot whenever feet weren't framed; the chilled wood floors were cold, requiring warm water breaks to stave off the chill. Posing required softness and an ambiguous, delicate emotional gaze to match this traditional style cosplay. The photographer checked every detail between takes—earpiece orientations, snagged tassels, and wig volume. My personal favorite remains the first shot, which beautifully integrates leg contours with the bodice cutout amidst serene composure. It was a demanding shoot, but the rich photographic texture brought this Chinese-style photography journey to a deeply satisfying close.
