[Amiya cosplay] Arknights Amiya Bunny-Eared Maid Styling Showcase

This shoot took place inside a covered abandoned factory building where ambient light was dim; the overhead steel truss structure, combined with purple LED lighting, cultivated an intensely austere industrial mood. We aimed to create a striking visual contrast between this gritty industrial vibe and my ruffled, blue-and-white Maid outfit. As Amiya's signature bunny-eared Maid outfit, the multi-layered skirt offered wonderful flare and fluffiness—ideal for leaping or spinning actions—though it demanded constant postural vigilance while worn.

The central action captured in this photo was tossing and catching the White Rabbit candy. This oversized candy prop carried substantial weight; capturing it frozen mid-air so it looked effortlessly tossed or caught required countless takes. I needed to time my jump rhythm precisely, keeping my arms naturally extended without stiffness while controlling the skirt's fluttering flare to look airy and fluid without wardrobe mishaps.

To complement the dress, I paired white mid-calf socks with retro black leather shoes. Framed by the short skirt, this combination neatly elongated leg lines and guided visual focus naturally toward leg movement. The brown bunny ears on my head were another highlight; matched with the ponytail and hair accessories, they made the character look delightfully spirited. Throughout this Anime-style photography session, keeping my styling pristine required frequent touch-ups to the wig and bang curvature, as the sharp lighting sculpted the silhouette with precision.

In reality, the shooting floor had no lawn—the green grass in the photo was integrated in post-production. This was done to neutralize the harsh, cold illumination of the factory and infuse a touch of dreaminess. Post-processing focused on dipping the background, accentuating the foreground lawn, and sculpting rim highlights around the subject so she popped cleanly from the dim surroundings. Photographer Dusk leveraged the venue's point and line light sources in the background to expand depth of field.

This set was quite an undertaking among convention photos. Convention halls are heavily crowded, making it difficult to find a relatively open spot where we could position props without disturbing others. Hauling the massive White Rabbit candy prop into the venue took considerable effort. After every single action shot, we had to haul the giant prop back to its starting mark before resetting. Faithfully embodying the character with natural expressions and movements relied heavily on prior practice and day-of stamina—fine-tuning foot placement and backward-tilt angles during jumps to locate the sweet spot. Sincere thanks to the photographer for professional movement guidance, pinpointing the split second the prop hung in mid-air alongside the skirt's dynamic trajectory. Post-processing polished the rim lighting, gently boosted subject saturation to anchor the frame, and applied noise reduction to the purple and green ambient lights, striking a clean balance between dreaminess and authentic documentation. This photoshoot deepened my creative connection to Amiya once again.
