[Perfumer Cosplay] Identity V x Little Yellow Duck Collaboration: How's This Gate-Opening Phase Play?

"Sorry, but I looped you all the way to the gate-opening phase again~"

This quote perfectly matches the styling and shooting atmosphere this time. The world is just one giant Identity V match, and this time I chose to challenge the Perfumer cosplay look from the Little Yellow Duck collaboration. Although the in-game skin might be slightly different in reality, I tried my absolute best to restore that overall energetic, street-style, and playful vibe in this Anime-style fashion ensemble.

Let's start with the styling details of this outfit. The main piece for the upper body is this bright yellow cropped hoodie with white patchwork sleeves, featuring pink and red cartoon patterns and drawstrings on the chest, which fits perfectly with the cute and lively tone of the collaboration. Underneath, I wore a black midriff-baring sports inner piece covered by a layer of black mesh long sleeves. The color-blocking contrast between the black fishnet and the bright yellow is incredibly eye-catching, instantly maximizing the visual sense of layering. I also wore black elastic bands around my wrists and neck, looking like sports wristbands, adding a touch of functional style.

For the lower body, it's black shorts with metal trim. The most eye-catching feature is a bright orange sports jacket tied around my waist. The jacket is stitched with clear small pockets, several cartoon badges, and paired with that little duck charm. This style of tying a jacket around the waist is genuinely so street-chic and flatters one's body proportions wonderfully. On my feet, I paired white mid-calf socks with black and white stripes, along with a black thigh ring and white platform high-top sneakers, giving the overall look a very strong athletic feel and 2D attribute.

Now for the makeup and hair. This time I wore a purple-pink gradient wig with hair strands trimmed in clear layers, showing a slightly fluffy, gentle wave that looks highly dynamic. The head is adorned with small hair accessories like pink hearts, stars, and flowers, alongside red hair buns for accents. The facial makeup was also meticulously put together: I wore circle contact lenses to enlarge my pupils, deepened the eyeshadow and outer eye corners with a pink palette, and applied glitter around and beneath the eyes, providing both a three-dimensional depth and a particularly innocent, cute expression.

This set of photos was shot in an outdoor corridor scene featuring off-white concrete textures and yellow walls. During the shoot, the photographer Muzi and I were both exceptionally invested. However, I must say that this type of styling involving heavy physical movements really tests one's stamina. Muzi's snapshot angles were quite tricky, and certain poses required holding balance—including standing on a single leg and stretching my arms wide—all trying our best to manifest the vitality of the costume and the character during this outdoor cosplay photography session.

But after finishing this set, I paid a painful price—I accidentally injured my left leg during the shooting process, completely wiping me out. The next day I was limping while walking and could only run to my bestie's place to vent and seek comfort. Though it hurt like crazy when shooting, the moment I saw the raw files, my mood instantly brightened up significantly. As long as the cuts come out great, it's a win!

Naturally, there were also minor episodes during the early shoot. Due to lighting and environmental restrictions, a few photos suffered from backlighting issues, causing the raw images to look less than perfect in terms of light and shadow. But that's okay, I immediately started grinding on the photo editing TvT! In post-processing, I mainly adjusted the contrast between light and dark, brightened the shadows, and then refined the skin texture and color saturation, retaining the vividness of the yellow and orange while making the purple-pink hair look more natural. Although the retouching process was a bit tiring, seeing each photo come back to life gave me a rush of pure satisfaction. This kind of perfection carried with slight flaws conversely burns a deeper memory point for this set of photos. I feel that doing cosplay is exactly such a painfully joyful process; from outfit preparation, hair and makeup styling, to on-site shooting and post-retouching, every single phase requires investing energy. Despite injuring my left leg, the final finished results of this highly energetic Perfumer cosplay look from the Little Yellow Duck collaboration make it feel entirely worthwhile.
