Shooting this Yixuan cosplay photo set involved substantial preparation, from makeup tests to final output. The monochrome styling captured in these images was executed in an outdoor night environment. The black leather top utilizes slightly thick PU leather, with internal structural support added to achieve structured, crisp shoulder lines. The crisscross chest straps serve as the visual center, where connecting white beads and golden stitching required exact symmetry. The jacket hem features black-and-white block patterns, creating staggered layers against the inner white short skirt. In terms of styling details, the white standing collar creates a sharp contrast with the black garment body, while the blue flower brooch pinned to the left was hand-secured during prep—its yellow stamen brightening the dark jacket's tone.
For hair, the silver-white wig underwent multiple styling passes before shooting. The top bun paired with a black circular headband precisely outlines the character's signature silhouette. Due to strong night winds that evening, the hair tips blew into a natural dishevelment, softening rigidity and adding an authentic battlefield readiness atmosphere. The makeup emphasized eye dimension combined with a focused gaze to convey her calm and sharp personality. Direct hard light at night frequently risks blown-out facial highlights, so the photographer continuously fine-tuned lighting angles. The final selected set preserves both facial contours and natural skin texture.
The location was an outdoor event site at night, where blurred passersby in the background provided genuine on-site immersion. The striking green flare on the right came from ambient facility lighting, adding a visual accent to these Convention photos. This convention-like venue setting allowed the character styling to merge naturally into the surroundings. Lower-body tights paired with the white skirt highlighted straight leg lines during static poses.
When shooting this look, the jacket sleeves were actually quite voluminous; translucent white cuffs with ruffle trims reflected light into distinct layers under direct flash. To prevent a bulky silhouette, I deliberately controlled arm angles to keep sleeves flowing yet crisp. Using flash on black leather garments can easily run out of control, as leather sheen risks blowing out dark fabric details. Fortunately, light ratios were controlled exceptionally well across the set, leaving chest lacing and white printed lines clearly defined. Material contrast between sleeves and skirt provided smooth textural transitions across black and white tones.
This shoot aimed primarily to capture her composed, effortless composure. Even with crowds passing behind, standing before the lens for those few seconds required focusing solely on breath and posture. The photographer was remarkably efficient, capturing my desired expressions seamlessly. The costume design is truly unique—the black-and-white base accented with yellow highlights creates powerful visual impact. Achieving this Night portrait set under night conditions was filled with unexpected challenges, yet the final result was thoroughly satisfying. Thanks to every distraction and cooperation on set; without the night breeze and background crowds, this level of raw authenticity couldn't have been realized.
