[Mizuki Akiyama cosplay] Project Sekai Thanksgiving Stage Performance Look Photoshoot

Here is a breakdown of the shooting process for this outfit, mainly documenting my look as Mizuki Akiyama in Project Sekai. The layers of this Stage performance costume cosplay were more complex than expected; the structured white and pink patchwork fabric, especially the frills along the skirt and the black-and-white striped waist accents, easily bunched up when standing straight, requiring constant smoothing by hand to maintain volume. The wig features long pink hair with braids on both sides, which, paired with side black bows, flatters the face line nicely. For eye makeup, I selected deep shadows with reddish undertones so my gaze would remain sharp under bright white highlights. The shoot took place primarily in a pure white studio, where a white circular podium served as a solid anchor. To highlight the texture of the White tights cosplay, I chose single-leg standing poses to show off the stretch of over-the-knee socks. In the third photo, I stood on both feet while raising the microphone straight overhead with my right hand—a pose that demands significant core strength, requiring a straight back to maintain poise, along with controlled tension in the thighs and calves to keep the White tights cosplay from bunching into noticeable creases at the knees. The microphone was an on-site prop; fairly light, but holding it up high required a steady wrist to prevent it from shaking on camera. The lighting was adjusted multiple times since a white background easily washes out white costume elements, so we lowered the background lights to bring out facial contours and fabric layering. The third image features a centered composition with fully extended limbs, perfectly displaying the costume's front design and leg lines, which is why I chose it as the cover. The wide cuffs paired with white gloves needed careful angling when raising hands so they wouldn't snag. The skirt opens up completely, so we frequently checked that the back hem wasn't curled up, making sure the lace trim of the over-the-knee socks and the bows on the black Mary Janes remained clearly visible. While studio shoots can feel repetitive when catching dynamic motion, capturing satisfying moments made it genuinely rewarding. Looking through the photos, the lighting truly accentuated the wig and eye makeup while giving this support costume vibrant color.
