[March 7th cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: March's Dress Captures Playful Moments at the Convention

I successfully completed the shoot for this March 7th dress at the convention. The color palette of this outfit is wonderfully refreshing, dominated by blue and white with accents of elegant pink-purple. The pink wig has a fantastic texture, and the two bright blue highlights at the ends enhance the character's unique flair, paired with the silver-blue ice crystal mini tiara on top to perfectly express her icy attributes. The top features an off-the-shoulder cut with detached sleeves; the white base fabric combined with the 3D snowflake ornament on the chest beautifully flatters the neck and shoulder lines. The snowflake ornament is crafted with great precision—its geometrically cut facets refract lovely halos under the exhibition hall lighting, focusing the visual weight of the photos remarkably.

The sleeves of this outfit are one of my favorite parts—the puffy detached sleeves feature a soft gradient from pale pink to lilac, finished with a subtle pearlescent shimmer that looks utterly dreamy. The pleated skirt hem is printed with fine starlight patterns, which, paired with blue translucent bows and ribbons, creates a light, flowing dynamic when walking. For props, I held a blue square Polaroid camera; its size fits perfectly in one hand, while cleverly echoing the color palette of the costume and hair. While shooting, I tried to channel the character's love for documenting daily moments, making the prop an organic part of the styling rather than a stiff accessory.

Throughout the shoot, photographer Xingya was exceptionally patient. To capture an energetic vibe, we tried several poses standing on one leg with arms outstretched. Maintaining balance in this stance wasn't easy, especially while holding a camera and keeping a smile aimed at the lens. Thankfully, the footwear and socks were fantastic—the white over-the-knee socks (reminiscent of White tights cosplay) flattered the leg lines visually, and paired with glossy black platform Mary Jane shoes, they not only elevated the outfit's sophistication but also helped stabilize my center of gravity while standing. This pairing elongated the overall body proportions, standing out effortlessly amidst the busy convention environment.

The convention venue was quite a test due to cluttered lighting and heavy foot traffic. However, Xingya was great at finding angles, picking an area with light-colored floor tiles to use ground reflection to brighten my face and deepen the darker backdrop. In addition to those dynamic standing shots, we took a softer series in a spot with a white faux fur rug. Sitting gracefully on the rug as the skirt flared out naturally, the white, blue, and pink top harmonized with the white stockings, imbuing the frame with immense warmth and youthful charm. Meanwhile, a close-up shot holding the camera slightly forward nicely highlighted the snowflake ornament on the chest.

Although a full day at the convention drained a lot of energy, seeing these final photos made everything completely worthwhile. Being able to take part in such a convention event, wearing this carefully prepared March 7th dress, and immersing myself in the character's mindset to feel her unique liveliness and confidence is a deeply rewarding ritual in itself. The photographer's candid captures and the prop coordination made this convention experience truly meaningful.
