[Kusanagi Nene cosplay] Project Sekai Blue Light Forest Cosplay photoshoot Showcase

For this shoot, we selected a Fantasy Forest Anime-style background dominated by blue and green lighting. Due to the character's design and color palette, this cool-toned lighting effectively fostered a mysterious, fairytale-like ambiance. For props, the main archway, corner mushrooms, and blue butterflies overhead created a well-rounded visual frame. Underfoot was a semi-transparent plastic sheet that simulated the shimmering texture of a water surface under studio lights.
The costume itself has rich layering; the main skirt adopts a high-low cut, leaving ample space to showcase leg lines from both frontal and side angles. During the shoot, we paid special attention to the toss angle of the skirt, which, together with the layered black waist pieces, gave the composition a certain visual weight. The wig was made of long, sleek fibers to facilitate flowing, airy motion effects. The contact lens color and eye makeup focused on capturing the character's emotional expression, matching the cool tone of the scene to avoid feeling disjointed.
In the actual shooting process, the first half focused on the looking-back close-up, utilizing side light to sculpt facial contours. The second half shifted to full-body frontal and profile angles to capture the moment the skirt billowed. Because the skirt was voluminous and I was standing barefoot on a slightly slippery plastic sheet, controlling my center of gravity required high concentration. We adjusted the lighting direction multiple times that day to ensure distinct layering between the skin tone and the blue-green background.
My interpretation of this character is someone who seems somewhat introverted on the outside, yet holds an extraordinary, burning passion for singing inside. Therefore, my facial expressions did not stay on a simple smile, but carried an earnest determination to convey heartfelt feelings. For this Cosplay photoshoot, I chose an outfit I had prepared for a long time, aiming to highlight its structural details. I communicated extensively with the photographer beforehand before finalizing this fantasy-themed Anime-style background plan. Special credit goes to the costume maker for the delicate lace splicing at the collar and the shaping of the black layered pieces at the waist. The overall makeup and styling took about one to two hours; styling the long wavy hair took some effort, but the result was very satisfying.
Among this entire set, I am personally most pleased with the composition of the second photo: the display of the skirt and legs is complete, and paired with the sunflowers and mushrooms in the background, the color contrast is very striking. Post-processing did not rely on heavy special effects, focusing mainly on color calibration so the blue lighting wouldn't make the face look too washed out, while preserving the ambient glow. The shooting process went smoothly; despite the intricate setup, the crew was very cooperative. I hope everyone can feel the character's stage presence through these photos. If suitable venues arise in the future, I'd love to try more styles for this character.
