"I can no longer run like that anymore." Wearing this Tokai Teio cosplay uniform outfit and looking out from a high vantage point at the scenery below the City overpass, this line lingered relentlessly in my mind. This Outdoor photoshoot took place on a modern City overpass, framed by dense skyscrapers and uniquely shaped glass architecture. The afternoon light was very intense; the warm sunlight cast diagonally across my face, creating a rare and poignant ambiance.
The costume design for this shoot was remarkably elaborate. The reddish-brown wig was tricky to style, especially positioning the animal ear headpieces on top to look natural. The neckline features a blue-and-white uniform collar tied with a pink bow, adorned with heavy gold-fringed epaulets on the shoulders and a red cape at the back. Although the weather was hot that day and sweat trickled down my neck while standing on the bridge in this heavy gear, I patiently paced up and down the stairs to let the photographer capture my most natural expressions and preserve the character's authentic essence.
Shooting on a bustling City overpass naturally drew stares from passersby, but it also helped me find an emotional resonance—as if Tokai Teio from Umamusume: Pretty Derby, having faced setbacks, had stepped away from the racetrack and into the city. While I certainly can't run that fast in real life, freezing this character's resilience before the camera serves as my own special keepsake. During post-processing, I deliberately preserved the authentic sunlight texture, maintaining a contrast between the reddish-brown hair, blue uniform, and surrounding architecture. Sharing this feels far more meaningful than just routine posing.
