[Sangonomiya Kokomi Cosplay] Genshin Impact Character Convention Cosplay Outfit Sharing

Bringing this Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay to the convention this time was completing a shoot plan I've had for a long time.

The overall color scheme of the costume is a blue-and-white gradient, beautifully blending wide outer sleeves with an inner short-style design. The black choker at the collar featuring a sapphire base serves as the visual centerpiece of the entire Cosplay outfit; I specifically adjusted its tightness when putting it on to prevent shifting from affecting shooting results. The small fluff balls on both shoulders are cute accents, though at the venue they swayed with the slightest movement. Speaking of accessories, I also brought a glowing transparent jellyfish lamp prop; it was relatively lightweight, but its center of gravity floated easily, so I had to stay mindful of the angle while holding it to avoid blocking the coat front. Additionally, that large ring-shaped magic circle prop carried heavy visual weight, but it actually put a huge physical burden on my body—especially when holding it up with one arm. To maintain stability while posing for the fourth set of actions, I exerted considerable effort to balance my center of gravity.

In terms of pose selection, I specifically prepared a white plush carpet as a base. The grey concrete floor of the convention venue was indeed very cluttered, but laying down the carpet immediately created a clean framing frame. I felt the side-sitting pose in the second photo yielded the most ideal result; while stretching leg lines, the texture of the White thigh-highs outfit under overhead lights was well preserved, offering great visual extension alongside the gentle tulle skirt. Of course, the front half-kneeling shots holding the jellyfish lamp looked playfuer, but the edges were easily swallowed up by the blue and white palette of the outfit, so highlights were slightly toned down in post-processing.

The ambient lighting at the convention venue that day was quite complex, with many tracking spotlights arranged on the ceiling causing severe diffuse reflection. The photographer on site basically utilized ambient light combined with minimal off-camera flash during Convention photography to avoid harsh whites and overexposure as much as possible, preserving the sheer fabric details on the skirt hem. Here I must particularly mention wig styling: the gradient hair color from blue on top to pink below is very picky about lighting. In reality, under strong lights on site, blue color bleeding often occurred, so in post-processing we made fine adjustments to the hue of the hair color to present a natural light blue-pink texture as much as possible.

Actually, the biggest challenge of attending the convention in this outfit was not the costume's weight, but how to find a relatively spacious corner in the crowded venue to complete the shoot. After foot traffic picked up in the afternoon, passing cosplayers frequently stepped on my white carpet, so the overall shooting rhythm was quite fast. Fortunately, the final selection of photos proved quite satisfying in both facial expressions and prop states, maintaining great character accuracy.

When walking around, the sleeve cuffs and skirt hem fluttered elegantly. Although the fabric is lightweight, its fluffy shape made it slightly stuffy upon stepping indoors. However, these are common situations at conventions; staying as relaxed as possible is the key to capturing natural expressions.

Overall, I am quite pleased with how this costume turned out. Especially for that sense of lightness, without using overly extravagant backdrops, simply employing a plain white carpet and natural portrait lenses successfully conveyed the character's quiet and gentle temperament.
