Preparing this Puppet Cosplay look for Sandrone took nearly an entire month, requiring substantial effort at every stage from pattern confirmation to wig trimming and styling. The original design's garment architecture is rather intricate: a white corseted bodice across the chest, complemented by a black choker and red gemstone accents, alongside golden geometric waist accessories that build remarkably rich visual layering. To recreate this tactile fidelity, I put immense care into fabric selection—particularly the contrast between the black jacquard weave and the golden line work—giving the actual ensemble impressive heft when worn.
The wig was chosen in a soft golden-brown tone, cut with blunt front bangs and topped with a handmade white ruffled headdress edged in metallic geometric trim. The two long red ribbons trailing from behind caught the breeze easily during the shoot, demanding frequent adjustments. We split the shoot across two sessions: the outdoor shoot was staged on a lawn draped in lavender tulle and cascading wisteria blossoms, where crisp natural daylight beautifully highlighted the sheer texture of the White stockings and black stilettos. The indoor shoot took place inside a vintage photo studio, where warm amber illumination paired with oil paintings and birdcage props fostered a quiet, contemplative atmosphere.
Photographer @tea boasts an incredible cinematic eye; having collaborated many times, he is exceptionally adept at capturing delicate nuances of light and shadow. For makeup, I deliberately emphasized the blue contacts and soft pink blending around the eyes, paired with a fair, porcelain base to embody the marionette's exquisite yet subtly detached persona. In terms of posing, I minimized dramatic bodily movements, choosing closed eyes or gently bowed head angles across most frames, as the character carries an innate melancholy and serene stillness that excessive expressions would disrupt.
We encountered several minor hurdles throughout the shoot. While the outdoor lawn was gorgeous, stilettos sank easily, demanding careful steps when walking. The lavender tulle served as a stunning foreground element, but sudden gusts frequently blew it across my face, requiring non-stop repositioning between takes. Indoors, the oil paintings and birdcage set were thoughtfully arranged, though the focused studio spotlights meant cycling through numerous seated and standing setups to secure optimal angles. The White stockings and lace hems of the skirt also had to remain impeccably smooth, keeping us busy with touch-ups and wardrobe adjustments.
Slipping into and out of the entire coordinate was time-consuming: the corset's tension required precise tightening to hug the waistline, while the wig easily shifted when transitioning locations. Yet reviewing the completed frames made every ounce of trouble worthwhile. The ethereal outdoor dreamscape contrasted sharply against the vintage indoor ambiance. Huge thanks to the photographer for his patient guidance and post-processing mastery. This photo set is an expression of my personal interpretation of the Marionette, and I hope everyone appreciates this靜態, lighting-focused artistic presentation.
