When I received this Lynette costume in person, I was quite pleasantly surprised. The classic black, white, and blue palette, combined with the mix of leather and fabric, delivered much better layering than I had anticipated. In particular, the black corset top features dense vertical pleats along the front and a center zipper, creating an exceptionally pronounced waist-slimming effect visually. To recreate the character's crisp, sharp demeanor, I intentionally layered a white puff-sleeved shirt underneath, tied the blue bowtie edged in gold at the collar, and paired it with the brown leather crossbody harness and metal buckles, which immediately anchored the overall style.
In terms of styling and makeup, trimming the wig took quite a while this time; the curves of the bangs and sideburns were adjusted repeatedly to fit my head shape. The star mark on my face was drawn using a combination of liquid eyeliner and specialized stencils; to keep it from glaring under studio lighting, several layers of setting spray were applied. The animal ears and tail were key highlights this time. To make the tail curve naturally, a wire armature was added inside so its angle could be adjusted on the fly to match my poses, keeping it from limply clinging to my legs.
For the studio shoot, a solid background was chosen, primarily to prevent visual clutter from swallowing the fine details of the outfit. Standing on that reflective circular platform was actually much harder to balance on than flat ground—especially during the single-leg lift pose, where my core had to stay engaged the entire time to prevent wobbling. The lighting technician kept the key light very soft, while the rim backlight subtly traced the contours of my shoulders and legs, giving the edges of the black-and-blue skirt hem a gentle translucency.
The skirt features a puffy, ruffled design where the outer black leather blends with the inner blue layers, showing off distinct tiers as I moved. The dark lace-up boots were a bit heavy, but the chunky platform design helped elongate leg proportions nicely. When wearing the grayish-purple pantyhose Stockings, I chose a pair with a subtle semi-sheer finish so they wouldn't appear stiff under strong light while preserving skin texture visually. While posing, I focused my center of gravity on my waist and hips, keeping arm movements relaxed to mimic a feline sense of relaxed vigilance—such as crossing my arms or flashing a single-handed peace sign, both subtle touches highlighting her personality.
The shoot went very smoothly overall, and after simple color grading, the raw shots took on great texture. Every time I take on a character with this many prop and costume details, the prep work is demanding, but the moment the final photos come together, all the effort feels completely worthwhile.
