Bringing this March 7th look to fruition required significant dedication across makeup styling and shooting. While March 7th in Honkai: Star Rail is intrinsically a vibrant, energetic character, I aimed to highlight her bolder, more dashing demeanor this time. For the wig, I selected a pastel pink-violet short cut, textured with defined layering; bangs couldn't be overly dense, preserving an airy, organic volume. Honoring the character made eye cosmetics paramount: blending pinkish-red eyeshadow gradients paired with crimson contact lenses and pronounced false lashes gave the gaze sharp, spirited focus. Blush was diffused softly across the cheeks, matched with a glossy watermelon-red lip tint to keep the overall face fresh yet exquisitely refined.
Looking at garment construction, a white vertically striped stand-collar blouse served as the base, layered beneath a black vest adorned with white accent piping and cross emblems. The striking red floral brooch on the chest anchored the visual focal point of the outfit, complemented by dimensional silver embroidered filigree. The metallic collar insignia and sheer chiffon sleeve flounces were faithfully recreated. For hand props, I carried an umbrella patterned with red floral blooms against a black canopy; during outdoor captures, natural daylight grazed the umbrella's surface and the subject with rich dimensional depth. Later, returning to the car, we shot an additional set of candid selfies—the dim interior ambiance contrasting against bright outdoor light accentuated the fine makeup nuances remarkably well.
The most captivating facet of embodying this character is her seamless blend of spirited bravery and endearing charm. Many assume pink-themed characters can only tread sweet, delicate avenues, yet March 7th's combat resolve and decisive persona effortlessly command a grounded, powerful aura. Participating in the 2D Vision Project, I also experimented with the Yoru Nagatsuki makeup aesthetic, infusing personal artistic interpretation while safeguarding her canonical hallmarks. Every stage from preliminary makeup trials to final photography demanded iterative refinement—styling spray was layered multiple times to lock down the wispy fringe, while metallic wardrobe hardware was angled to prevent harsh specular glints on camera. Though preparation was meticulous, seeing that clean, crisp swagger reflected in the final frames made every effort worthwhile. I will continue exploring characters across varied aesthetics, refining deeper textures across garments and cosmetics.
