Stepping onto the stage at ChinaJoy this time, I decided to take on Miss Fortune from League of Legends—and putting together this pirate style look took quite a lot of dedication. The bright red wavy hair paired with an oversized black pirate hat featured golden embossed filigree along the brim and a geometric crest in the center, which I attached piece by piece by hand. To elevate the overall finish, the hat's body was treated with a matte coating, preventing harsh glares under the chaotic convention lights.
Garment coordination served as the beating heart of this styling. The inner piece is a white lace-trimmed bandeau top layered beneath a glossy black leather bow top; this clash of textiles preserves her alluring sensuality while injecting rugged pirate grit. The detached sleeves feature voluminous white flare cuffs trimmed with lace along the hems, casting a graceful, breezy drape in motion. On the bottom, deep brown leather trousers with strappy cutouts, a wide leather belt, and oversized gold metal hardware along the hip cinch the waistline with striking presence. The two exaggerated flintlock pistol props were custom-made—the flared muzzles and delicate gilded filigree were weathered with an antique finish, giving them tangible weight in my hands that instantly brought commanding authority to every pose.
Capturing Miss Fortune authentically in a bustling convention setting is certainly no small feat. Her personality is flamboyant and fiercely confident, with an unmistakable predatory edge in her gaze. To embody this aura, I wore bright blue contacts and defined my eye makeup with deep contours and sharp, winged-out lines for an intimidating gaze. Shooting amidst surrounding crowds demanded continuous focus: keeping my spine upright, chin slightly tucked, and a steady gaze locked on the lens. Whether aiming one gun into the distance or crossing both pistols before my chest, maintaining taut bodily tension was essential. With the midriff-baring design, engaging my core and subtly tilting my hips was necessary to accentuate flattering curves.
Wearing this ensemble was quite a physical workout: between the heavy pirate hat and dense leather fabric, walking around the warm exhibition hall definitely worked up a sweat. Yet whenever onlookers recognized the League of Legends champion or praised the craftsmanship of the props, every bit of fatigue dissolved into satisfaction. Immersing into favorite characters through cosplay goes beyond merely wearing a costume—it means channeling that fearless resolve and effortless swagger the moment she draws her pistols. The ChinaJoy shoot went smoothly, surrounded by fellow passionate fans who understood the universe and shared great conversations at the booth.
