[Phoebe Cosplay] A Pure White Glance in Wuthering Waves: Documenting IJOY Anime Convention Day 2

Right on the second day of the IJOY Anime Convention, here is a special set of photos from my Wuthering Waves Phoebe Cosplay.

To be honest, what I want to talk about first isn't how accurate the outfit is, but rather the hidden reveal: "Surprise, I'm a guy!" Friends scrolling past this post, did you actually see me at the venue? Amidst the crowd at the convention, those who stopped to take photos or walked past might have found it hard to connect this blonde angel in a white dress and blue cape with a male. Male cross-dressing has always been a challenging yet fascinating endeavor; to match the blonde-hair blue-eyed setting, it requires not only delicate makeup adjustments, but also aligning both internal and external demeanor as closely as possible with the character.

Getting back to the photos: the texture of this outfit exhibits a soft matte finish under the light. The blue cape has a great drape, and the golden embroidered pattern details remain clear even without harsh light and shadow. Although the white boots feel substantial, standing at the convention all day guaranteed sufficient support. The wide neckline of the skirt and black lace at the cuffs add layered accents to the pure white tone. The wig is a custom-blended golden-yellow long wig, with smooth curves crafted along the sides and forehead. Styling the wig took quite a bit of time, repeatedly tweaking and teasing out the shape so it looked naturally voluminous.

The atmosphere at IJOY Anime Convention was truly wonderful, with Day 2 foot traffic exceeding expectations. Walking around the exhibition area, I maintained an upright posture as much as possible to preserve the character's tranquil demeanor. However, standing for long periods is bound to be tiring, especially walking back and forth in platform white boots and pantyhose; yet being repeatedly invited by booth owners and event photographers to take photos filled me with a feeling of being loved and recognized that instantly melted away physical fatigue in my Coser daily life.

Seeing the previews, many friends on site reacted with, "This Phoebe is so ethereal!" Naturally, I'm very grateful for such praise, but when it comes to cosplay and roleplay, I've always believed that visual similarity is merely the first step. Conveying the character's spirit through carefully conceived scenes and poses is where the real fun lies. Just as shown in the photos, utilizing the white wrought-iron flower stands and drapery set up at the venue created a feeling under the serene light of a chapel or manor, making me feel as if I had truly stepped into that fantasy world.

The preparation process this time was actually filled with internal debate. From character selection to finishing the shoot, there were concerns like, "Can I really hold down a female character with such a pure and clean design?" But standing before the booth, watching so many strangers hand over their phones asking for a photo, and hearing cosplayers backstage proactively praise the costume details, those worries transformed into motivation with a smile. Cosplay is not merely putting on clothes; it feels more like temporarily borrowing a physical body for the soul of a beloved character to experience a parade through the real world.

I hope the quietness in those closed eyes and the clarity of that backward glance in the photos can be transmitted to you in front of the screen. Friends who couldn't meet me on the day of the convention don't need to feel regretful—we can still meet through the light of these images.
