[Cartethyia Cosplay] Wuthering Waves Bilibili World Day 2 Duo cosplay Floor Walk Check-in - Image 1

Today was Bilibili World Day 2, and I finally took this Wuthering Waves Cartethyia costume out to walk the convention floor. I crawled out of bed at 5 AM to do my makeup—the foundation, eye details, and that black cross mark on the forehead took three shaky attempts before I was reasonably satisfied. The wig was styled and trimmed ahead of time, using nearly half a can of setting spray to keep the bangs out of my eyes while staying true to the character design. The black straps and metal buckles around the neck and chest are central to this outfit; getting them on required help, and once cinched tight, even breathing required conscious control. Yet looking at the reflection in the mirror, everything felt completely worth it.

This time, I paired up for a Duo cosplay with Big Car (@圆罐之理). As Small Car, the contrast between the two of us standing together was quite striking. After meeting up inside the hall, we immediately scouted for spots with good lighting for selfies—Big Car held the phone while I threw up a peace sign. Many passing photographers and gamers stopped to look, and quite a few came over for photo ops. The Wuthering Waves community was incredibly warm; hearing players recognize us and shout out our character names on the spot was deeply fulfilling.

The foot traffic in the venue was immense today, with amazing cosplayers around every corner. This outfit features multiple heavy fabric layers, so despite the indoor AC, squeezing through the crowds left me drenched in sweat. Carrying the wig and headpiece all day put real strain on my neck. We followed the crowd through several booths, pausing along the way to snap convention photos. The event lighting was tricky—overhead lights often cast unflattering facial shadows—so we regularly detoured to the sides of booths to find better angles. Big Car has a sharp eye for framing, and whenever the background grew crowded, we adjusted our stances together to keep the compositions as clean as possible.

Taking on a cosplay with such intricate mechanics always makes midday gear upkeep the biggest hassle. The wig tangles easily, and straps shift out of place with walking, requiring frequent pit stops in quiet corners or rest zones to readjust. For footwear, comfort was top priority; trekking through the massive expo all day in improper shoes would have destroyed my feet by afternoon. At lunchtime, we found a relatively calm corridor to grab a quick bite and blot away facial shine.

In the afternoon, we checked out several game booths and doujin alley stalls, bumping into familiar friends along the way to chat and exchange group photos. Many attendees carried serious camera rigs and had high standards for costume accuracy, kindly pointing out subtle tilts in waistbelts or cuffs. It served as a great reminder to polish my garment detailing even further for future outdoor shoots. As the expo wound down, we returned near the South Plaza to catch a few last shutter clicks under the setting sun. The light was significantly softer, yielding much prettier shots than inside the convention center.

Back at the hotel with my makeup removed, my whole body feels completely worn out. Sorting through today's photos while jotting down these notes. Big Car performed with rock-solid confidence today—completely relaxed in front of the lens and great at finding flattering selfie angles. There's still another full day of the expo tomorrow, so I need to rest up, recharge my stamina, and mend the costume a bit. I hope to meet more fans who love this title tomorrow and share insights on shooting and cosplay craft.
