[Misaki cosplay] New Year Qipao Ryuge Kisaki in Blue Archive, festival blessings for every Sensei

As soon as I got these New Year qipao cosplay photos, I quickly organized them to share with everyone. The initial intention of this shoot was to blend traditional Chinese festival atmosphere and present a different side of Misaki during the holidays. As a New Year special project, we made many adjustments to the outfit and styling to fit the festive vibe, especially this modified New Year Qipao.

The base color of this Qipao is a crescent-white with subtle jacquard patterns, featuring distinct crimson red contrast trimming in the details. In particular, the horizontal bust cutout and frog button design retain the traditional charm of the Qipao while incorporating modern anime-style ingenuity into the tailoring, showcasing both the character's cool temperament and a joyful New Year atmosphere. To visually elongate leg lines, I paired it with black thigh-high stockings and white thin high heels; this classic black, white, and red color combination makes the overall styling look sleek and eye-catching.

Speaking of the Qipao wig styling and headpieces, it took me almost half a day to adjust them properly. The floating geometric halo overhead was a specially customized prop; to demonstrate its natural floating state, we repeatedly tested various solutions for hiding the support frame. The red silk flower accessories and vivid red tassels on both sides not only echoed the red elements on the costume but also heightened the rich New Year atmosphere.

The photoshoot scene setup was crafted with great care, feeling almost like stepping instantly into a quaint traditional Chinese courtyard. Beyond the classical mahogany furniture and hanging calligraphy folding screens in the background, the venue was decorated with abundant red plum branches and festive red lanterns, complemented by a red floral carpet on the floor, creating a highly unified tone and atmosphere. In particular, the fluffy lion dance head in the lower left corner added a lot of interactive fun during shooting.

Among the several poses from this shoot, my favorite is actually the one sitting on the chair. Sitting on a Chinese wooden chair with legs naturally crossed, holding red envelopes or the "Great Fortune in the New Year" scroll, maximizes the display of the slit design of this modified Qipao and the texture of the black stockings. Meanwhile, photos on the daybed sofa possess a more relaxed, everyday feel; holding a folding fan or handing over a red envelope allowed better interaction toward the camera, bringing the photos closer to the viewers.

Guided by the photographer, we utilized props like the vertical red scroll with gold lettering reading "Great Fortune in the New Year" and red envelopes labeled with lucky money to craft several distinct compositions through body language. The pose handing over the red envelope was playful, while the standing posture with the scroll felt elegant and dignified. Combined with soft warm lighting, skin textures, the sheen of the white Qipao fabric, and background layering were all rendered flawlessly.

Lastly, I must praise the outfit's fidelity; building upon the character's core setting, the added Chinese traditional elements gave the overall styling a great sense of holiday ceremony. Being able to complete this New Year qipao cosplay photoshoot in a studio so packed with festive spirit was a truly satisfying experience.
