Choosing to shoot Misaki in the residential garden this time was mainly because I loved the layered look of the greenery and rockery landscapes here. Misaki's cool and elegant temperament in the original setting actually suits this kind of environment with natural light and shadow very well. The wig is a custom-made dark blue gradient, and I put a lot of effort into fixing the blue hair double buns to ensure that the curves from both the side and the top look perfectly rounded. For the cheongsam cosplay, I chose a dark blue satin fabric, and the cutout patterns on the collar and waist sides were detailed with embroidered patches. Although it restricts movement slightly, the body lines in standing and sitting poses are very beautiful. During the outdoor photography session, we spent most of our time waiting for the dappled natural light to filter through the leaves. This soft diffuse reflection maximizes the color of the dress while avoiding harsh shadows from direct sunlight. We shot a few sets of squatting and sitting poses, and finally picked this one sitting on the bench, where my hand gestures and gaze are meant to convey a sense of composure and a hint of tsundere charm. Even though people occasionally walked past the garden, choosing the right angles successfully captured a very quiet atmosphere. For the makeup, the focus was on enlarging the eye shape, using brown and red eyeshadows to blend in a touch of gentleness, and the lip color was a matte brick red, which doesn't clash with the dark outfit. In post-processing, the highlights of the background were toned down slightly to make the subject stand out more while preserving the textures of the plants and stones. I always get super excited whenever I do characters with Chinese style elements, because a cheongsam paired with a traditional garden is truly a perfect match.
