The weather was sunny and the sea breeze was blowing. Although the shooting conditions on this day were great for final photos, they also came with challenges. This Peipei outfit mainly features black leather-textured fabric, with gold trims and a prominent white flower on the hood, making the whole look highly recognizable. Especially that long pink tail and the thigh straps elements perfectly recreate the character's styling traits. Choosing a beach full of reefs for the location this time, the sunlight hit the black and gold outfit directly, fully showcasing the texture and lines. This harsh contrast from natural light actually fits the character's temperament better than a studio shoot.

To get good pictures, I tried actions from many different perspectives. For instance, when crouching and sitting on the rocks, special attention had to be paid to the placement of the tail, trying to let it spread out naturally, coordinating with the slight metallic movement on the hood. Some actions looked easy, like that single-leg upward pose, but in reality, maintaining balance on the sandy beach tested core strength quite a bit. There was also an arm-raising stretching frame, which particularly emphasized the waistline and extension of the limbs, letting the dress hem and glossy fabric present a great drape under the light. At that time, we set up the camera and kept debugging the aperture and depth of field on the beach, because the background reefs were very rich in texture; we needed to highlight the character without letting the background overshadow the main subject. The photographer emphasized capturing rim lighting under this intense light around noon, which actually set requirements for us because the reflector couldn't hit the face directly, but had to fill a bit of the dark areas from the side to enhance the three-dimensionality of the face without ruining the original hard light style.

Shooting a cosplay photoshoot often comes with many spontaneous inspirations. Sometimes just following the direction of the wind and letting the sea breeze blow the hair and tail can produce highly vivid natural dynamics. Facing the piercing sunlight, I got used to blocking it with my hand in front of my forehead or using a side profile to catch the light. This not only cleverly avoided squinting but also set off the hood and white flowers more vividly. Actually, the character Peipei inherently carries a playful and casual feeling, so the demeanor doesn't need to be too cold and aloof; naturally letting out a smile makes it easier to reach the soul of the photos. These black and gold outfit details also performed exceptionally well under a wide-aperture lens, requiring basically no excessive lighting handling in post-processing, and a slight color adjustment could restore this bright summer feel.

The experience of shooting on the beach was indeed very special, especially in such an extremely hot and fiercely lit outdoor photography environment, where keeping the makeup and clothing neat and clean was not easy. However, seeing the final photos where the light pierced through the white inner layer and outlined rich highlight edges at the hem of the black shorts, I still felt this trip was well worth it. There was also a small blue hanging bag on the side of the waist, which added an eye-catching color leap to the entire black and gold outfit, acting as a great finishing touch. I particularly like that last frame of crouching on the beach, looking down and pointing at the sand; the sunlight left a long shadow, making the overall atmosphere very soft and warm.

The biggest issue when shooting in the reef area was the comfort of the feet. Although the thick-soled sandals gave a nice height boost, standing on the rugged rock surfaces still required some composure. Some actions looked very simple, but actually needed many snapshots to select a satisfying one. The photographer brought a long focal length lens, which could capture the gaze even from a bit further away. In pursuit of this naturalness and agility, sometimes we completely disregarded composition, letting the model move first, and then capturing the frames. This high-intensity outdoor shoot was tiring, but I truly enjoyed this open-armed feeling, interacting with nature and letting the character's setting naturally blend into the real sunlight and wind. Every single picture in this photoshoot poured in a lot of the photographer's ingenuity; keeping the black of the clothing from looking flat while retaining texture layers under such a bright outdoor environment heavily tested skills. I hope this set of photos presents Peipei's lighthearted and somewhat adventurous trait.
